Gates of Vienna News Feed 10/7/2010The EU is considering taxing the European financial sector to shore up its sagging fiscal house. Up until now, banking has been exempt from the VAT. But all that may change, with a tax levied on each financial transaction.

In other news, the Gallup polling organization reports that unemployment in the USA has risen to 10.1%.
