Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/17/2010

Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/17/2010There are three articles in tonight’s feed about sham marriages, which are a growing problem across Western Europe. Would-be immigrants with enough cash can purchase a marriage certificate with the help of a willing accomplice in the country they wish to enter, and thereby gain permanent residence and a passport. Three countries — Britain, Ireland, and Sweden — are featured in tonight’s reports. The going rate for a sham marriage in Britain is said to be £6,000. In the southern Swedish city of Malmö, the local authorities subvert the system and make it easier for people to engage in fake marriages by reducing the amount of personal information on the bride and groom which is collected and made available to investigating authorities.

In other news, a deal is rumored to be in the works to move the planned mosque at Ground Zero to a different location. The word is that New York Gov. David Paterson will meet with the developers of the Cordoba Initiative to discuss a new site for the mosque.

If Sweden's elites want to Somalialize, Porkistanize, Sudanize or Yemenize Sweden, they've got to tear down as many hurdles as possible in the way of that goal, haven't they?

Perhaps someone can shed a bit of light on the topic for me - what benefits exactly does the sham marriage give an immigrant?
Does it grant them citizenship? temporary, permanent? Is it really that easy for the most subversive of people to become a part of the EU?
