Tommy Robinson: Political Prisoner

In the video below, Alain Wagner of the International Civil Liberties Alliance (ICLA) announces plans for a demonstration in front of the British embassy in Paris on November 24 in solidarity with Tommy Robinson. The French demo is timed to coincide with one that will be staged by the English Defence League at Wandsworth Prison, where Tommy is being held on remand.

I can’t understand spoken French well enough to translate what Alain says in the video, but I’m expecting a translated transcript (and possibly also English subtitles) in dues course. In the meantime, here are the notes accompanying the video on YouTube (my translation):

The International Civil Liberties Alliance has called for a demonstration outside the British Embassy on Saturday November 24 at 3pm to protest the violation of Tommy Robinson’s right to free of expression, and to denounce the persecution he has suffered at the hands of the police.

Contrary to its international commitments, Britain is engaging in a campaign of repression and persecution against all those citizens who risk their lives to denounce the dangers of the progressive implementation of Sharia in their country.

Tommy Robinson, given the treatment that has been inflicted on to him, must now be regarded as a political prisoner.

Alain Wagner participated in the Brussels Conference on July 9, 2012, and was pivotal in the writing of the Brussels Declaration.

Great video. It is incredible to imagine that in 2012, there is a Brit imprisoned, in isolation, for his thoughts in the UK.

Alain Wagner points out that at the same time, that islamist Qatada is free to go where ever he wants, in the UK.

Wagner says as this is happening in the middle of the EU, we must be prepared for being imprisoned for intellectual "crime" at any time in the near future as sharia spreads in Europe.

What is happening (03:00) in the UK today, is not acceptable, and it is our duty (in France) to defend The (Universal!) Human Rights. We are the defenders of The Human Rights, of Liberty. Please be there on 24 November. We will tell the UK that what is happening to Tommy Robinson is indecent of a European democracy.

"We are counting on you!"
