“No daughter of mine…”

Prospero just sent us this joke:

A little family problem here…

Last night my daughter just walked into the living room and said, “Dad, cancel my allowance immediately, rent my room out, throw all my clothes out of the window, take my TV, stereo, iPhone, iPod, and my laptop. Please take all of my jewelry to the Salvation Army or Goodwill. Then sell my new car.

“Take my front door key away from me and throw me out of the house. Then disown me and never talk to me again. And don’t forget to write me out of your will and leave my share to my sister.”

Well, she didn’t put it quite like that. She actually said…

“Dad, I have decided to work for Obama’s re-election campaign.”

Prospero,

Ah, to be young and saving the world! Delusional self-heroism is fast becoming the purpose of school here in the USA.

Karl Marx would be overjoyed to see his wish for the immiseration of the masses become wildly successful as a world movement. He would be further thrilled to see how smoothly it escorts the nations towards social fascism under scientistic elitists.

To progressives, more accurately, pro-agressives, we all get to be saviors now. You can fantasize how wise and superior you are, just vote pro-aggresive.

Youth are of course prone to this pro-agressive Cult of the Imaginary Problems that Obscure the Real Life Ones. If they have good parents, they'll grow out of it. Mine did in his young twenties.

I'd like to see the glamor of the imaginary downtrodden and imaginary cataclysms exposed for what they are, so they can be replaced by a healthy interest in the mystery that is life. It's one or the other. You can't serve God and, at the same time, cater to mammon's insanity.

I am worried that America will lose free speech under Obama. (Example)

As an Australian I have learned more about Islam than any other means with Bear Naked Islam web site.(now removed)
I have always held America as a unshakable pillar of freedom and free speech. To think that so many Americans have given their lives for freedom and free speech.
I am sadend to see a radical Islamic group dissolve the concept of ("I do not believe in what you say. But I shall defend to the death your right to say it.)
I am concerned if this web site is taken down, how many more will follow. This gives those that hate free speech much more incentive to take down many more sites.
I'm afraid it's no longer God bless America. But God help America.

I remember when Ronald Reagan won his first term...my Mother & Father, union dues paying democrats said to me, "well your man won, get out of the house!" They didn't have much to do with me until he won his second term. God rest their souls...

A few years from now she will, quite sheepishly, admit to you that she made a big mistake.

Under no circumstances are you allowed to say: "I TOLD YOU SO!".

All you may say is: "Love ya too sweetie".

You New: "To progressives, more accurately, pro-agressives...."

Good one! Did you make that up or read/hear it somewhere? :)

Devastating. As parents, we are too often faced with such totally unexpected lapses of common sense by our kids. No rational reason for their bad decisions. Sadness. Major ouch. Praying for a healthy dose of "critical thinking" to invade her consciousness.
