Season’s Greetings to Our Readers

Happy Winterval!

Happy Holidays!

During this season of good cheer, Dymphna and I would like to wish all our readers a fulfilling Winter Festival. Wherever you are, whatever your cultural or religious background, we hope you will gather together with companions of all races, faiths, genders, and species to celebrate a diverse Solstice with tolerance, inclusivity, and respect for everyone who might have a different normative worldview.

During the coming New Year we pledge to join with all our comrades to continue the fight against violent extremism in whatever form it takes and wherever it may arise.

We recognize that those who attack us do so because they hate our freedoms, our tolerance, and our openness. In their blind hatred they are attempting to destroy our values. Their motivations for acting out with such wanton antagonism may never be fully known.

Nevertheless, we will continue resist the forces of evil until the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.

Any questions?

Very disappointed with the first paragraph. It could have come from a PC manual. By trying not offend or attempting to be 'inclusive', you have both offended me and exclude me. :-(

When Orson Welles announced that the Martians had landed in New Jersey on October 30, 1938, did you believe he spoke the truth?

I was going to make a serious comment, but I'm listening to this butter rant and everything and you know what? I think that there is a time to just go ahead and laugh it all off.

Oh ye of little faith.
I saw the irony (honest Dymphna) and I for one wish seasonal and Christmas greetings to the operators of this blog.
The days are getting longer here. Long may it continue.

As a point of note, is it not potentially disrespectful, offensive and inflammatory to our Muslim minority to not have an Islamic Crescent in its rightful place, on top of the snowman? As per British law, I am exercising my right to feel highly offended on the Muslims' behalf...

And I second comrade Vortac's suggestion - a red star could go on top of the snowman, inside the Islamic crescent. This would comprise the perfect emblem of peace and tolerance.

Wishing a very tolerant, inclusive and enlightened Winterval to Baron, Dymphna and readers of all faiths - and species!
