Gates of Vienna News Feed 9/16/2010

Gates of Vienna News Feed 9/16/2010A controversy has arisen in Dandenong, Victoria, Australia, over a proposed swimming program during next year’s holy month of Ramadan. Those who seek to accommodate observant Muslims want to have an after-hours swimming session in which mandatory sharia cover-up is enforced, even for non-Muslims. Most area residents are opposed to the idea.

In other news, Iran has donated $25 million to Turkey’s ruling party, the AKP. Apparently Turkey does not have the same stringent campaign finance laws to which we are accustomed here in the USA.

Muslims are plotting the kill the Pope on his British visit. They have been wanting to kill him ever since his 'Regensburg Address' - see links under Pope Benedict at http://crombouke.blogspot.com/2010/01/everything-you-need-to-know-about-islam.html

If a local mosque/islamic youth centre wants to hire the pool for the evening, it can do these things legally (maybe with a surcharge for new filters?).

However, to open the pool to the public, means opening it to a multi-cultural populous, which means civil laws apply, not religious laws.

Time to start saying NO!
