A Different Take

Those who were here for the anti-Zionism vs. anti-Semitism arguments may want to go over to see what commenter Jez has to say about the topic on his own blog. The post is: Terror, anti-zionism, anti-semitism?

I notice that he has enabled comments on his post…

". . . You declare, my friend, that you do not hate the Jews, you are merely 'anti-Zionist.' And I say, let the truth ring forth from the high mountain tops, let it echo through the valleys of God's green earth: When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews--this is God's own truth.

"Antisemitism, the hatred of the Jewish people, has been and remains a blot on the soul of mankind. In this we are in full agreement. So know also this: anti-Zionist is inherently antisemitic, and ever will be so."

"Let my words echo in the depths of your soul: When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews--make no mistake about it."

Can't vouch for the authenticity of the above site, though regardless of the status of the M.L.K. letter, the sentiment is certainly true (and in accordance with MLK's beliefs)

Thank you dymphna

Adaneshju: The allegations of fraud are news to me. I didn't know that. It's certainly interesting from a historic perspective, but matters little to the subject at hand. Appeal to authority never carries much weight anyway - and the words are not important because they were said by a great man, but because we know them to be true. In any case, as you said, MLK said as much in a number of other statements over the years.

Thanks for posting that link

It is a Rosetta Stone of how naieve well meaning people end up supporting that which, if the final result could be seen, would horrify them.

The trick is how to bring these people to hard reality without calling them what Felix Dzherzhinsky did.."USEFUL IDIOTS"

Chomsky indeed !

Love your blog, read every post, and send it around.

Mr. Hanson -- thank you for your kind words!

We are blessed with literate and reasonable commenters, for the most part, which makes the job fun. And we have very few flame wars here.

I adore these ultra hip P.C. gurus who insist on "not taking sides" in such an incredibly subjective manner.

Twit.

Thanks for posting the link-- it gave me something to laugh about.

Jez is a piece of work, all right. He believes that being Danish or Polish "has nothing to do with religion or ethnicity!" You can see my take on that particular piece of stupidity at his site.

Sure, Jez, claim you don't take sides and then quote Chomsky. That's got credibility written all over it.

Looks like we all misunderestimated poor Jez. It just came in that Ariel Sharon decided to wrap up the Zionist Entity and return to hs native village in Poland! Here's the URL:
