Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/15/2011A judge in New York refused to interfere with the city’s forced clearing (cleansing?) of Zuccotti Park, where the “Occupy Wall Street” gaggle had been creating garbage and odors for weeks. Later on, after the site had been cleared and steam-cleaned, police allowed some of the protesters to return — but only after they had been searched to make sure they were carrying no tents, sleeping bags, tarps, or other equipment indicating an intention to take up residence in the park.

In other news, 20,000 ethnic Serbs in Kosovo have petitioned the Russian mission to be made Russian citizens. They feel that the government of Serbia, intent upon gaining entrance to the EU, has abandoned them. Russia does not recognize the independence of Kosovo.
