Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/18/2011

Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/18/2011Good news for Canadians: the Harper government is proposing the repeal of the legislation that allows the loathsome Human Rights Commissions to terrorize citizens who say negative things about Islam. The most well-known abuses committed by the HRCs were their persecutory charges against Ezra Levant and Mark Steyn.

In economic news, investors’ confidence in the new Monti government has driven the return on Italian government bonds below the 7% mark. The interest on Spanish bonds, however, has risen to almost 7%, signifying a decline in confidence that Spain can deal effectively with its own debt problem.

In other news, supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood took to the streets of Cairo in protest against the country’s military government and the injustices inflicted by it on the Egyptian people.

Terrible story unfolding in the UK - four police stabbed in London. Perp ran into a halal butchers to get a knife then attacked them. Yet to hear the Mohammed Coefficient on this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-15803860

Baron, I'd be interested to get some idea of GOV's web stats some time if fancy posting something. I wonder if you've seen them rise over the years (and particularly after the Breivik incident). I would expect that as people see a rising amount of Islamification on their doorstep, you'd be seeing rising stats. AF

Anon (#2) --

Our traffic rose fourfold during the Breivik affair, and then gradually sank bank almost to normal. Not quite all the way -- in other words, the new "normal" is slightly higher.

Traffic has risen slowly but surely over the years. The average is about twice as high as it was four years ago. It ticks upward whenever a jihad-related issue makes it to the MSM -- Geert Wilders' trial, a terror attack, that sort of thing.
