Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/12/2011

Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/12/2011A new poll reveals that Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu is more popular with American voters than President Obama. There’s no word whether the recent “open mike” incident with Mr. Obama and French president Nicolas Sarkozy had any effect on Mr. Obama’s standing.

In other news, Tony Blair says that all European countries must tighten their belts, pull up their socks, and support the euro. Well, he didn’t use those exact words, but you get the gist. Meanwhile, the Chinese have told the Europeans that they must rescue their own currency, and not expect any help from China.

In health news, a gastroenterohepatology expert in Indonesia says that his research shows that 80% of adults in Jakarta have contracted hepatitis A at one time or another in their lives.

Not sure where to let you know of this, but I thought this was a fine example of multiculturalism in the UK:

The judge said "In this country the feeding of a child in this way, against its will, is wrong and dangerous". I notice he did not say this as an absolute - just in the UK it's wrong. We still have a long way to go.

Also this case was largely ignored by liberals, who as we know like to think of multiculturalism as a simply a matter of different cuisines.

Most Americans I know (of any given political party) do not view Obama as a man of substance, but rather a representative of a greater agenda. In this any puppet could fill Obama's roll as long as they toed the party line.

Most Americans view Netanyahu as a man of substance and that he is actually in charge of his nation, rather than simply acting out a part in a political agenda.
