Good news for Canadians: the Harper government is proposing the repeal of the legislation that allows the loathsome Human Rights Commissions to terrorize citizens who say negative things about Islam. The most well-known abuses committed by the HRCs were their persecutory charges against Ezra Levant and Mark Steyn.
In economic news, investors’ confidence in the new Monti government has driven the return on Italian government bonds below the 7% mark. The interest on Spanish bonds, however, has risen to almost 7%, signifying a decline in confidence that Spain can deal effectively with its own debt problem.
In other news, supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood took to the streets of Cairo in protest against the country’s military government and the injustices inflicted by it on the Egyptian people.
