Libyan resistance leaders from the rebel stronghold of Misrata journeyed to Paris to ask President Nicolas Sarkozy for more money. They promised that with additional funding they can be in Tripoli soon, perhaps within a matter of days. At the same time, the French government has softened its stance towards Col. Moamar Khedafi, saying that the Libyan dictator may remain in his home country after his ouster, provided that he retires permanently from public office.In other news, the German development minister explained that his country’s sale of tanks to Saudi Arabia actually promotes the cause of human rights by aiding regional stability in the Middle East.
