Students who were attempting to build a bomb caused large explosion at an Islamic boarding school in Indonesia. The police were blocked by students from entering the school for several hours after the explosion. The unfinished bomb was said to be intended to be used in a terrorist attack against the police themselves.
In other news, Wali Karzai, the half-brother of Afghan President Hamid Karzai, was killed by one of his bodyguards. The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the assassination.
Meanwhile, the gas pipeline from Egypt was blown up again. This was the second such sabotage attack on the pipeline this month, and the fourth since the beginning of the year.
