"Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Light"

The Dutch Daily blog has put up a most interesting email from one of the Rotterdam Labor Party councillors, Bouchra Ismaili, who is, of course, only coincidentally a Muslim. The original is from Het Vrije Volk blog, but since that’s in Dutch, we have the excerpt from DD:

Listen well, you crazy freak. We are here to stay! Hahahaha. Drop dead! I am a Dutch Muslim and I will stay that way until I die.”

Ismaili contends: “You are the foreigners here!!! With Allah on my side I fear no one. Me and my fellow Muslims are alive! Your species is being consumed by hatred. Let me give you some advice: Convert to Islam and find peace at heart!

My heavens! Ms. Ismaili certainly has found "peace at heart" hasn't she? This pacifist person sounds uncannily like Hillary on a bad hair day (see Tammy Bruce’s compelling compilation).

HV sent a good analysis regarding the level to which the Netherlands has fallen. It makes for sad reading:

Dutch society seems split in half: on one side the islamists, muslim immigrants, socialists, marxists, the subsidized [leftist] NGO’s and others living from the welfare state, the Balkenende government including the queen, and the creepy MSM;
- - - - - - - - -
at the other side the tax payers, the middle class that is conservatives and anti-islamization politicians like Geert Wilders and no-nonsense blogs like Geen Stijl [geenstijl.nl , being the most popular blog in the Netherlands] and the conservative intellectual Het Vrije Volk [hetvrijevolk.com].

This tear in society that has been under the skin of it for decades and kept under it by leftist governments’ totalitarian measures: subsidized anti-racist bureaus try to keep the lid on common sense ever since the discontent over the mass immigration and anti-Rushdie demonstrations by islamists in 1988, now comes up in response to the leftists arrogance and islamists brutality. People forget easily in the nineties in the Netherlands, these matters where discussed merely in private with well trusted friends. Outside this privacy, in the open, many feared with good reasons for repercussions if they said anything opposing immigration. Leftist will say this is ridiculous, but of course, they had nothing to fear and where shocked when Pim Fortuyn suddenly critisised them in the open and appeared to even gain popularity with every attempt to silence him.

Samuel Francis was right I think when he stated: “What we have in this country today, then, is both anarchy (the failure of the state to enforce the laws) and, at the same time, tyranny—the enforcement of laws by the state for oppressive purposes; the criminalization of the law-abiding and innocent through exorbitant taxation, bureaucratic regulation, the invasion of privacy, and the engineering of social institutions, such as the family and local schools; the imposition of thought control through “sensitivity training” and multiculturalist curricula, “hate crime” laws, gun-control laws that punish or disarm otherwise law-abiding citizens but have no impact on violent criminals who get guns illegally, and a vast labyrinth of other measures. In a word, anarcho-tyranny.

The progressive views are harmful to the middle class, which is under attack from two sides: by criminals who are being pampered as ‘victims,’ and by the State that is intervening and sucking out all economic and cultural resources from communities and its participating individuals.”

What he describes here is the natural outcome of malignant “tolerance” — boundless, eternal, undiscerning tolerance that refuses to stand for anything and so will put up with everything, including its own bloody end on the sidewalk. To paraphrase Dylan Thomas, I plead with the Dutch:

do not go tolerant into that good night
rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Sometimes I wonder if Leftists go to the same secret school because the destructive ideologies they create are virtually identical in all Western nations. Multiculturalism, earth worship (radical environmentalism), collectivism, anti-Westernism, etc. How are these sicknesses spread from one population to another? What is the vector? And why is it that Liberals/Leftists seem to never learn from the failure of others? They are under the arrogant delusion that their ideas will succeed if only the right person, themselves, were implementing them.

O/T - the Bible is now "unclean"

Wow! A quote of Sam Francis! Next will I see a quote of Jared Taylor here at GoV? It appears the truth is getting bolder and bolder. In the past couple of weeks GoV has shifted from criticizing muslims to political correctness and it has been some of the most hard-hitting, honest, brave, and piercingly enlightening writing I've read anywhere. I don't know how you maintain this level of analysis, descriptiveness, and intelligence post after post, but thank you.

"They are under the arrogant delusion that their ideas will succeed if only the right person, themselves, were implementing them."

...and that is usually followed by the reason that their ideas haven't succeeded is because they were 'underfunded.'

This thinly-veiled code means they want even more of your money by levying higher taxes.

It really is a disease.

Great post. Take out the "queen" reference and that passage could have been talking about the USA!

And Charlemagne is dead on! THe libs NEVER learn. They just say it (socialism/communism) hasn't really been given a chance. But they have found a great tool to help destroy us - Political Correctness.

The election this fall will tell us which direction this country is going.

I don't know how much we will be able to glean from the election results. The GOP hasn't been strong enough opponents of socialist tendencies. All they've really managed to do is slow the pace at which we are transformed to a Euro style welfare state rather than turn it back. Take SCHIP for example. The GOP didn't advocate for its elimination but rather only for smaller growth than the Dems want. The Dems could be playing a very smart game, if they want X they ask for X+1, the GOP negotiates to only give them X, the Dems accept with a sinister smile, and the hoodwinked GOP thinks they've "won" because they didn't give the Dems all they wanted. Yet socialism marches on.
To the masses of Americans the siren song of socialism, or rather government as protecting parent, is strong, especially in times of high anxiety like right now.
I feel that in the battle against socialism all we are able to do is slow the train down but unable to reverse its course.

Charlemagne,

Your are unfortunately probably very right. What I was trying to say was that this fall we will know if we have a real choice between a liberal and a anti-liberal. The only Republican running that I see as a true anti-liberal choice is Fred Thompson, and his campaign is less than stellar. Local races might give some hope. But, either way, this fall will tell us where we are on the slide to losing our freedom for good.

I do agree we have been losing ground steadily to collectivism.

I've said before that collectivism is like a million cockroaches. You can crush some, but eventually they will overwhelm you.

Why would liberals learn from the failure of others? They will not even admitt to their own.

de Boullion, please explain the context and interpretation of your post. I'm not sure I understand the viciousness.

Charlemagne said... 10

Jason - I think it's similar to "I'm from the Government...I'm here to help".

Well meaning people make things worse because "something" needs to be done. These types invariably always make the original problem worse in their vain attempt to "do something".

"Dutch society is splitt in half"
That's dangerously WISHFULL thinking. As of now ,a majority of the middle class is still comletly hipnoticed or brainwashwed with PC multculturalism.
There's group of people from the midle class that feel undecided ,and some of these can be won over by patient ,logic argumentation .This is a relatively small group ,but at this stage of the fight, its the most important objective that can be reached.
Thats why its important for anybody that don't like the idea of their descendants becomming DHIMMIS to improve their debating skils , allways to be ready for an argument ,and allways to have EFFECTIVE ansvers to all of the PC dogmas that float around everywhere.
As an example I'll take the idea of contract labour :
PC dogma has it ,that we need more immigrants to support an ageing population . The EFFECTIVE ansver to this is ,that can we get unlimited nombers of NONMUSLIM contractworkers from east and south asia ,and that these are much better workers than second generation muslim immigrants , and that they will be happy to go back home to their families with the money that they truely earned.
It's a WINN-WINN situation.

Listen to the tone of the writer in the original quote:

"Listen well, you crazy freak. We are here to stay! Hahahaha. Drop dead! I am a Dutch Muslim and I will stay that way until I die.

Ismaili contends: “You are the foreigners here!!!"

This writer is insisting that they, the muzlims, are the true Dutch, while the ethnic Dutch are the foreigners. Complete displacement is already claimed, such that the original Dutch have no claim at all on their country. Now obviously, simply saying this does not make it true, but it shows an arrogant mindset, completely incompatible with that of a guest in the country. This person has no idea at all of assimilating to Holland; Holland is theirs now, and it the Dutch that no longer belong and are outsiders (so the claim goes). What gall!

There is only one solution for this: Immediate and totally deportation of all of these muzlim peoples back to their countries of ethnic origin, including the ones born in Holland.

I was once infected with the liberal disease. The cure, paradoxically, was a function of the complaint.

I don't know precisely when I first questioned the liberal/left world view. Up to that point (my mid 30's) I'd more or less taken it as given; from that point contradictions that I'd been aware of but never really considered before stood out like sore thumbs. And the more I looked the more I was convinced that the world view I'd once held unquestioningly ran counter to common sense.

What on earth had I been thinking!

But of course I hadn't been thinking. And the process of readjustment so as to take account of my new understandings changed me fundamentally; thinking, marriage, career, social circle. But what can you do; once you've seen the light, so to speak, you can't unsee it.

The liberal world view relies a lot on wishful thinking. The idea of universal equality is like a comfort blanket for the masses; people like the sound of it. It makes them feel easy about the world; they hope that by believing in universal equality they'll solve the problem of the differing world aspirations of different peoples. Liberals want to believe because it's easier than thinking for themselves. They forget that wanting something doesn't necessarily guarantee it.

And reality has a nasty habit of disturbing daydreams.

Some people are better at fooling themselves than others are, but as the liberal explanation of the world shifts ever further away from the reality of the world it will be more difficult for liberals to ignore the contradictions inherent in what they profess to believe.

The age of the liberal is coming to an end.

Dr.D said... 14

thll said, "The age of the liberal is coming to an end." and if only it may be so! And it may be so, but it will be only to be replaced with a totalitarianism that for which liberalism has done the spade work. Look around you. See how viciously the liberals defend their fantasies. How vigorously the fight for the untruth of political correctness. This only leads to enslavement, not to enlightenment! Liberals have to wake up, as thll has, rather than continue their fight as almost all are doing.

Naturally, a Labour councillor. And one of the Muslims who lets the mask drop and is already openly triumphant and gloating. Can it be any clearer that she and her ilk came to colonize, not as immigrants to assimilate? And they will not make kind nor wise masters, as they destroy that which made the host society successful and turn it into the same kind of failed Muslim state they make wherever they rule.

The "peace" she offers is as always submission to Allah and Allah worshipers such as her. Well, I think her leftist feminist enablers are going to find their lot more difficult to bear in the coming Eurabia than their marxist men, with the exception of gays. Western totalitarianism lovers always think they're going to be in the teeny control booth instead of among the masses of the controlled. This dangerous delusion of the terminally stupid is going to get us all killed.

I don't think the majority of liberals are 'fighting to uphold the truth of political correctness'. I think they are like I was - being the good citizen, going to work, and believing what those that act as our leaders tell us. Fine, just so long as what our leaders tell us is reflected accurately in the way society operates.

It's the liberal elite that's doing the fighting, the rest are just going along for the ride. They're not fighters, they're camp followers and when the tide of battle turns they'll be on their way.

It's happening now. The establishment is on the defensive. Political correctness has become a parody of itself and it's in danger of losing credibility, as are those associated with it. Even the establishment is trying, amusingly, to create the impression that it's not pc - whilst at the same time being absolutely pc! What's that if not a sign that the sand is shifting under their feet - or should I say under their very shaky foundations?

I agree that the shift will be towards totalitarianism, but I see that in a positive light in that it's another sign of the declining influence of the liberals' way of seeing things. It's their admission that they can no longer control by ideas alone and it's confirmation that popular support for their ideas is evaporating.

A vacuum has been created in Europe post WWII - our national sovereignties have been stolen, our cultures have been minimised, our religious beliefs have been denigrated, and alien cultures have been encouraged to flourish amongst us. Is it not logical that that vacuum will be filled by a growing awareness of our 'Europeanness'? Surely it will be history's greatest irony when the self-destructive course we were set on by the EU Commissariat leads Europeans not to destruction but to see themselves as a people with common interests facing a common threat.

People revert to type when the necessity arises. Most Muslims in Europe know that they are in a state of war, most Europeans are not yet aware of this - but an increasing number is.

Rotterdam Councillor Bouchra Ismaili makes the mistake of crowing before dawn.

Ismaili contends: “You are the foreigners here!!! With Allah on my side I fear no one. Me and my fellow Muslims are alive! Your species is being consumed by hatred. Let me give you some advice: Convert to Islam and find peace at heart!“

Never, NEVER, NEVER forget that when a Muslim talks about "peace", they are referring to the "peace of the grave".

Bouchra Ismaili is merely exhibiting the usual Muslim sense of entitlement. Perhaps a bit more overtly than most but not any more passionately than the average follower of Islam. To them, the entire world is Islamic and people just have yet to realize it.

Geoffrey de Boullion: Frank Herbert stated in one of his novels that one of the most vicious statements a man can make is, "Something must be done."

Charlemagne: I think it's similar to "I'm from the Government...I'm here to help".

That "I'm from the Government" line is so last century. Get with the program, the new cipher is, "it's for the children!" Usually shrilled out by some hysterical female.

Dr.D: There is only one solution for this: Immediate and totally deportation of all of these muzlim peoples back to their countries of ethnic origin, including the ones born in Holland.

I continue to fear that such a campaign of "reverse immigration" represents one of the only ways to avert both genocide in Europe and an overall Muslim holocaust as well. Mexico's exportation of its restless male population to America is a microcosm of what the entire MME (Muslim Middle East) is doing to the world.

The West needs to tell Islamic nations, "Thankyouverymuch, but we can do quite well without your human refuse. Why don't you feed, clothe and house them for a change or suffer the consequences of an angry population instead?"

In an almost suicidal fashion, Western nations have allowed themselves to serve as a vent valve for the exact forces that might—albeit not altogether peacefully—pressure Islamic regimes to change. We are now absorbing the body blows that should be properly applied to the despots, tyrants and dictators throughout the MME.

As always, Islam wouldn't have it any other way.

Instead of suffering the slings and arrows of their own well-deserved misfortune, Islam has merely wound up so many disgruntled toy soldiers and sent them marching—all chock full of anti-Western jihadist sentiment—in our general direction. It's long past tea to present Islam with its own seething hordes and see just how well they can subject further millions to shari'a law's cruel barbarity. Especially some several seething millions who—no matter how they clamor for it—have had a taste of living out from under boot heel of Islamic theocracy.

Unfair as it may seem, repatriating Muslims who were born in the West might prove the biggest lever of all. These are the ones who have never known the crushing repression that full-scale shari'a imposes. They might well evolve into the underground force needed to finally throw off Islam's tyrannous yoke.

Then again—as has so often happened in the West—these young Muslims might become even more radical than their parents. With them all contained by a military cordon of the entire MME, they could then set about murdering each other for not being "Islamic enough". Yet another pasttime these pious young thugs just can't seem to get enough of.

No finer analysis of the Dutch capitulation to Islam can be found than that of Pakistani-born "Mohammed Rasoel": Die The Downfall of the Netherlands (English) and Die Ondergang van Nederland (Dutch). It was written in 1990 and the Jesse Jackson "oops" moment of Bouchra Ismaili only drives home his points. The hysteria that greeted his extraordinary book is a case study in, well, hysteria.

Fjordman mentions him briefly here. Rasoel is an amazing man with excellent powers of observation and analysis. Coming as he does from a vastly different culture, it's truly impressive to see how a foreigner like he could so accurately describe a situation that many of us only partially apprehend. Or that many of us were slow to apprehend. Speaking for myself, to be sure.

He is a gifted and expressive writer. The translation I read was obscure in a few places but it amply conveys his excellent humor and grasp of a language not his own.

Far from being a dog in the manger in his adopted country, Rasoel acquired and expresses deep respect and affection for the Dutch. Alas, he describes their suicidal ingestion of the fate of Anne Frank as though it were the Netherlands that had invaded the Netherlands and killed her, rather than the National Socialists.

A strange result. The Dutch don't recognize that they are not Nazis, and at the same time fail to recognize their cousins who live cheek by jowl with them. No sir! Sons of the Enlightenment to a man.
