Update on Jussi Halla-Aho

I wrote last night about the “racism” charges that have been leveled at the Finnish writer and Helsinki city council member Jussi Halla-aho. Vasarahammer just sent me a note with additional information on Mr. Halla-aho’s case:

Just a little clarification…

The original investigation was based on the complaint made by the Green Women’s Organization. The police found that the text mentioned in the complaint did not constitute incitement to rape.

However, the police will now go through all the articles written by Halla-aho (about 230) and try to find out if there’s anything unlawful in them (news story in Finnish).

The police would not do that on their own. Somebody in the State prosecutor’s office is behind this, most likely Mika Illman.

It is unlikely that they will find anything incriminating, unless the State prosecutor’s office really wants to see Halla-aho on trial, which is possible. In that case, the trial will be a political witch hunt and has nothing to do with justice.

A full explanation of the allegations made by the Green Women’s

Organization against Mr. Halla-aho may be found here. See this post for more information about Mika Illman.
