An environmental advocacy group known as Global 10:10 has created a nifty little four-minute commercial promoting its program for the reduction of carbon emissions. The short film features a schoolroom scene in which children who refuse to take part in a “reduce your carbon footprint” project are blown up by their teacher, and their body parts and blood splattered over their classmates. The producers of this appalling piece of totalitarian propaganda evidently thought their little piece was humorous, but they quickly found out that the rest of the world did not agree — the uproar caused them to take the video down within hours. It has, however, been mirrored, so those with a strong stomach may follow the link in the relevant article and watch it on YouTube.

In other news, General Pervez Musharraf, the former president of Pakistan, says his country faces chaos and disintegration unless the military once again takes a role in its governance. Meanwhile, two Indonesian women were caned for selling food during fasting hours in Ramadan.
