Gates of Vienna News Feed 10/15/2010

Gates of Vienna News Feed 10/15/2010A young culturally enriched pregnant woman in Bradford, in the North of England, was found by emergency workers on fire in the back yard of a house. Someone saw the flames, and called the fire brigade. When police and firemen arrived, the woman was “alight”. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are treating the death as suspicious.

In other news, the euro and the pound rose to new highs today against the dollar, in response to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke’s statement that more “quantitative easing” — the buying up of Treasury debt by the Federal Reserve — might be necessary, as the current economic crisis continues unabated.
