While British Prime Minister David Cameron talked up the admission of Turkey to the EU, a Turkish-German lawyer said that it’s very important to elect more Turks to public office, and a Belgian-Turkish deputy in the Brussels Regional Parliament said that Europe needs to build its own Islamic culture.
In other news, the Czech parliament overcame the opposition of the Greens and voted to build more nuclear reactors. Meanwhile, the Saudi government is cracking down on its citizens who travel abroad and contract temporary “tourist marriages”.
