The latest attempt to break the Gaza blockade failed when the Finnish-flagged ship Estelle was surrounded by the Israeli navy today and boarded without incident. Israeli sailors took control of the ship and piloted it to Ashdod, where the passengers and crew — progressive activists from Canada, Europe, and Israel — will be dealt with by the Israeli immigration authorities. There were no violent confrontations or injuries.

The demonstrators were protesting the Islamization of France, and demanded a referendum on French immigration policies.
