Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/25/2011

Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/25/2011The news feed is sparse tonight. One reason is that the Italians seem to be on vacation. It’s also rumored that Fjordman took a nap, which may have impacted our coverage.

The most entertaining story concerns cloned camels in the United Arab Emirates. As Vlad headlines it: “Muslims use cloning technology to cheat at camel racing”.

To see the headlines and the articles, open the full news post.

Thanks to Fjordman, TV, and all the other tipsters who sent these in.

Commenters are advised to leave their comments at this post (rather than with the news articles) so that they are more easily accessible.

Caveat: Articles in the news feed are posted “as is”. Gates of Vienna cannot vouch for the authenticity or accuracy of the contents of any individual item posted here. We check each entry to make sure it is relatively interesting, not patently offensive, and at least superficially plausible. The link to the original is included with each item’s title. Further research and verification are left to the reader.

So what exactly is Baroness Warsi's point then? She agrees that one can be an 'extremist' and an 'Islamist' without being a terrorist, i.e. employing violent means to achieve your ends.

Which, so far as I can make, is pretty much what David Cameron said. And the government doesn't want to give the taxpayer's money to such people. (Not any more, anyway.)

So why did she have to stick her oar in? Why resort to making ad hominem remarks about Melanie Phillips? Because she has no real answer to the points she makes about her? Would the Baroness think it appropriate for people to start calling her 'Wacky Warsi' after her mealy-mouthed, utterly pointless, get me in front of the cameras, remarks?

Yorkshirewoman Baroness Warsi, more British and conservative than the council housed indigenous single mother and offspring on welfare - this is British conservatism.

Baroness Warsi and the islamo mimeme of the British establishment and conservative politics is the true face of British conservatism.
