Handcuffs and Jackboots Await an Independent Flanders

Vlaams Belang: An independent Flanders #1

Long-time readers will remember a notorious incident on September 11th, 2007, in Schuman Square in Brussels. On that occasion, leaders of the Flemish independence party Vlaams Belang were assaulted, knocked to the ground, surrounded by jack-booted police, handcuffed, and taken away to jail.

Their crime? Peacefully protesting the Islamization of Flanders.

The jackboots, handcuffs, and paddy wagons were back in force again today in Brussels, almost four years later. This time the leaders of Vlaams Belang were chased down and arrested for putting up street signs declaring an independent Flanders.

The article below is from Svenska Dagbladet. Many thanks to Reinhard of ICLA for the translation:

The entire party leadership and about twenty elected politicians belonging to the Flemish right wing extremist and separatist party Vlaams Belang were arrested by Belgian police Tuesday, when they declared Flemish independence and renamed the street outside the Parliament Building “Flemish Independence Street”.

Vlaams Belang: An independent Flanders #2

The stunt had been announced on the first anniversary of Belgium’s last national election. Since the 13th of June last year the country has been without a government, since the parties have been unable to decide on who would form a government or what direction should be taken by a coalition government consisting of the winners in the different parts of the country.

Vlaams Belang: An independent Flanders #3

Two road signs on the street Rue de la Loi (“Street of the Law”) outside the building where the caretaker prime minister Yves Leterme has his offices, Leterme himself being Flemish, were covered and replaced by the sign “Vlaamse onhanfhankelijkheidsstraat” (“Flemish Independence Street”) and “Republiek Vlaanderenstraat” (Flemish Republic Street”).

Vlaams Belang: An independent Flanders #4

Police allowed the well-known party member Filip Dewinter to uncover the first sign and hold a speech in which he declared that Belgium is more bankrupt than ever, and that the only solution is an independent Flanders. When the group tried to move down the street the police got between them. In the chaos that followed about twenty party members and three persons on the party board were arrested, including Dewinter.

Vlaams Belang: An independent Flanders #5

The party board member Tanguy Veys eluded the police with an impressive sprint, and had time to unveil another sign on a side street before he was engulfed by the crowds in the street. Those arrested were later released.

Throughout the world, it is "Law Enforcement" that is the damnable swill enabling the evil. Until those foul bastards are rotting in hell where they belong, Islamization will continue unabated.

Or do you imagine that the Masters would be able to do this WITHOUT the support of "Law Enforcement"?

The stench is overwhelming. And it smells like pig. Which is TRULY amazing for an entity which enables the evil of the "Religion of Peace"!

"Long-time readers will remember a notorious incident on September 11th, 2007, in Schuman Square in Brussels."

Covered only by one wing of the AIM (notably GOV here, and Diana West), whilst Vlaams Belan and Filip Dewinter had by then become hot potatoes for Robert Spencer radioactive with the potential for the "racist/fascist" charge from which even a 10-foot-pole would not have protected him. The extra torque of irony (-cum-hypocrisy?) to this was the extent to which Spencer at the time boasted of not caring about the taint of the "racist/fascist" charge as that would be to kowtow to the specious bullying propaganda tactic of smearing by association (and usually fabricated associations at that).

-- someday in the not too distant future, perhaps, to be renamed Rue de la Sharia...

Rue the day...

Not much of a deterrent. If anything, this act by police only increased the popularity of Vlams Belang and provided them with lots of free publicity. I call this a win.

Hesperado,

Many people were banned from the now-infamous Little Green Footballs (to which I decline to link) simply for supporting other blogs that linked to stories supporting Vlaams Belang.

I was banned from LGF for daring to speak on behalf of the Serbs, who are my blood relatives and who are still being wrongfully libeled and persecuted. Apparently, only the prosecutors are allowed to speak at LGF, never the defense.

Vlaams Belang is in the blogroll at 1389 Blog under the "Freedom Parties" header.

I agree. Regardless of receiving some free publicity (always a good thing), Vlaams Belang has successfully allowed the police to undermine their own position.

The more that people perceive "law enforcement" as an arm of those who are driving Muslim colonization, the less moral authority they will be accorded.

It is vital for Europeans to begin making a direct connection between their governments and the mayhem caused by Islamic invaders.

I have all my hopes pinned on the Flemish. Once someone can successfully make the point that the function of the state is a Darwinian survival strategy to protect the existence of their ethnic group, then the floodgates can open.

1389,

It's heartening to hear that you support Vlaams Belang, and always did -- and it doesn't surprise me, either! Thumbs up!

Having recently visited Vlaanderen (Brugge and Ghent) I was initially surprised that whenever I was close to any police they were always speaking French and not Dutch. Brugge and Ghent are deep inside Vlaanderen so my only conclusion can be that it is not a coincedence but likely intentional that the "authorities" with the guns are firmly from the looney Walloonie south. Thus the valient Vlaams Belang will never catch a break when it comes to the politie.
