Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/10/2011

Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/10/2011Yemen has pulled the plug on the local Al Jazeera outlet in Sana’a, in retaliation for what it views as subversive action by the broadcaster involving the anti-government rebels. Coincidentally, the latest reports from hydrologists indicate that the city of Sana’a is running out of water, and that the aquifers supplying it will dry up within about six years.

In other news, Dutch legislators are likely to ban kosher slaughter next week.

Meanwhile, a new report indicates that one in five people in Turkey survives on state benefits.
