Gates of Vienna News Feed 7/4/2012The big news of the day is that it seems almost certain that the Higgs boson has finally been discovered. The Higgs boson was the last remaining fundamental particle predicted by the standard model of particle physics to be confirmed by empirical observation. This momentous news was announced by CERN to a standing-room-only crowd in an auditorium in Switzerland, where the Large Hadron Collider, the device use to detect the boson, is located.

In other news, unemployment continues to worsen in Greece. 20,000 people are now said to be homeless there, with 68% of the population living below the poverty line.

CERN physicists announced that they are more than 99% certain that they have discovered the God particle. "Islamic" scientists are 100% certain that the Allah particle is greater.
