The latest reports indicate that British Muslims have traveled to Syria from Birmingham and Greater London to take part in the jihad against the Assad regime. A recently released British journalist who had been kidnapped in Syria heard Birmingham and South London accents among his captors.
In other news, the German minister for the environment says that despite his country’s cutback in energy use, new coal and gas power stations are needed to make up for the phasing out of nuclear energy.

Barry White, the US Ambassador to Norway, personally gave his excuses to the Oslo police after this practise bomb had been left underneath a car causing some embarassment due to immediate measures taken to avoid a possible diaster in the heart of Oslo around lunch Tuesday, one year after the fatal 22 July 2011.
In the evening, The Embassy was still awaiting a formal statement from Washington, while on twitter the following was to be seen.
