Cracking Down on Those Dangerous Bloggers

SlotervaartRegular readers (especially the Dutch ones) will remember the riots in Slotervaart late last year. Muslim “youths”, on a variety of pretexts, did serious property damage, beat people up, burned cars, and engaged in all the other forms of youthful exuberance with which native Europeans have become all too familiar in recent years.

Naturally the perpetrators of such acts were never pursued, let alone caught.

So the government of the Netherlands, which never sleeps in its effort to combat criminality and disorder, has decided to… crack down on bloggers!

The authorities hope to solve the Islamic problem by arresting and harassing those who criticize Islam. According to NIS:

Govt Targeting Comments on Islam-Critical Websites

The Public Prosecutor’s Office (OM) appears to have launched an initiative against comments on Internet sites that are critical of the multicultural society. The OM is among other things focusing on the popular website GeenStijl.nl.

GeenStijl received a written request this week to report to a police station in Amsterdam, without further information on what it was about. GeenStijl’s editors reported they were told that 14 comments on its website were punishable offences. These were contributions from visitors to the site in 2006.

GeenStijl is astonished at the move. It says it is actually very active in removing unacceptable comments. GeenStijl has three staff members for this. The site says its archives contain 11 million comments. If 14 reactions are inadmissible, this is a margin of error of 0.00001 percent, according to the site.
- - - - - - - - -
GeenStijl noted that the Internet Discrimination Reporting Centre (MDI) praised the site only last week for its policy. “Geenstijl is the best at removing. They seem to be checking their email permanently; generally we have an answer with apologies within two minutes,” MDI director Niels van Tamelen told De Pers newspaper.

But it is actually based on a complaint by MDI dating from 2006 that GeenStijl has now been summoned to the police station. The OM in Amsterdam denies there is a new policy. “More attention was already allotted to discrimination last year,” was all a spokesman would say.

GeenStijl founder Dominique Weesie said about the 14 comments: “Half of them could have been made by the average politician; the other half plainly went too far. But what goes too far for us is that we as a website are now held accountable for this.”

If MDI had approached GeenStijl, the reactions would have been removed, but this did not happen, according to Weesie. “The MDI is required to inform the website manager first, before transferring the case to the OM. Not GeenStijl, but the MDI can therefore be accused of negligence.”

GeenStijl is challenging the OM to prosecute it. The site writes: “You bunch of amateurs, go and be deeply ashamed and then go and catch real crooks, instead of creating a climate in which webloggers and cartoonists are declared outlaws. As far as we are concerned, bring this case before the judge, be sure that you will lose it.”

The move on GeenStijl is not isolated. Recently, cartoonist Gregorius Nekschot was arrested by 10 police for ‘discriminatory’ cartoons. Last week, the webmaster of the politically incorrect site Hoeiboei was summoned to the police station. What they have in common is that they are critical of Islam and immigration.

The list of Dutch organizations or individuals harassed by the government for their speech is now quite long. Besides the two blogs mentioned above, Ehsan Jami, Rita Verdonk, Geert Wilders, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Gregorius Nekschot have all been tapped on the shoulder by the long arm of the law.

Our expatriate Dutch correspondent H. Numan has been keeping me informed. Concerning GeenStijl and Hoeiboei, he had this to say in an email:

All received blank summons, no reason given. GeenStijl did answer the summons (Hoeiboei didn’t), and it appeared ‘merely’ to be political harassment. Out of 11 MILLION postings, A stunning 14 of them could be judged offensive.

One complaint regarding disregard of privacy was filed. The other three can be dismissed out of hand: the MDI (still) has to inform the site owner first before filing a complaint.

Nevertheless, it is chilling to the bone to see the cradle of tolerance and freedom of speech changing via a DDR democracy into a Shariah state.

I asked him if Het Vrije Volk (HVV) is also likely to feel the chill breath of the thought police, and here’s what he said:

HVV is less likely to be targeted than GeenStijl, but far more likely than Hoeiboei.

GeenStijl is rather provocative. The don’t beat around the bush. You call them on the phone threatening to sue? Ten minutes later you can hear your voicemail live on line.

You’re a black politician who blundered? Too bad, they nail you to the cross, without any respect for your divine black skin. They aren’t racist, they just nail another blundering politician.

Hoeiboei is very different. Far fewer comments posted. Much more editorial. Far less offensive. In fact, I’m even surprised to see them summoned.

So, if a very polite and quiet blog like Hoeiboei gets into trouble, that means anything to the right, and HVV certainly is, is in big trouble.

At the moment it’s harassment. Show bloggers the police are there. They’re out and looking for… YOU!

So behave nicely, and you have nothing to fear. Pure DDR polizei work.

And remember: when they finally get past the little Irish speed bump, when the Treaty of Lisbon is fully implemented, the EU will be like the DDR writ large.

Imagine it: an entire continent fitted out like a Soviet satellite state. Government control of the media, arrests for thought crimes, ubiquitous government surveillance, informers, massive corruption, bloated and inefficient bureaucracy — all in the name of enlightened tolerance, in order to prevent war and aggression, to protect poor defenseless women and minorities against the dangers of nationalism.

Europe, say hello to your future.

Quite recently, the Swedish parliament passed a law enabling it to tap all emails and telephone lists of all its citizens. This gives the state more extensive powers to conduct surveillance of its own citizens than even Stasi in the DDR, the Communist dictatorship of East Germany. At the same time, the seriously underfunded police force has more or less abandoned the streets to criminal gangs. The state wants to continue our population replacement through mass immigration and bans opposition to this. The state is thus officially an enemy and does not even pretend to uphold the social contract anymore. The gloves are off.

The EU is preparing enlargement to include Muslim countries while native Europeans can already not walk the streets in safety in their own cities. It's the greatest betrayal in history, as I've said many times before.

Multiculturalism is now officially a totalitarian doctrine that is to be enforced across the EUSSR, just as Communism was enforced across the USSR and its satellite nations. We shall be demographically and culturally deconstructed and crushed, whether we want to or not.

If there's one thing I have learned from reading European history, it is that at virtually no time after the fall of Rome has a single authority, political or religious, been able to enforce real censorship of ideas across the entire European continent. Even the Index of the Catholic Church was rarely enforced with much effectiveness beyond the Italian Peninsula, and if the writings of a French author were banned in France, they were printed in Switzerland and smuggled back into France. This is one of the greatest comparative advantages Europe has enjoyed vis-a-vis China, where the imperial court could centrally regulate debate and education across the Chinese empire.

The EU now constitutes the first time in modern history where somebody is able to effectively regulate everything taught or published from the Black Sea to the North Sea. It's extremely dangerous and will kill everything that once was good about European culture, unless we get rid of the EU first.

User-generated content and weblogs - a new challenge
Information society - 11-06-2008 - 12:30

The report calls for social and legal guarantees for journalists and editors
As weblogs represent an important new contribution to media pluralism, there is a need to clarify their status, and to create legal safeguards for use in the event of lawsuits as well as to establish a right to reply, says a recent own initiative report drafted by Estonian Socialist Marianne Mikko. Own initiative reports are drafted by individual MEPs and are not proposals for EU laws. The report was later adopted by Parliament's Culture Committee

This article has been corrected to reflect amendments by Parliament's Culture Committee, which affected some of the positions in the draft report that we had previously reported.

The report - adopted by MEPs on the Culture Committee on 3 June - also says there is "considerable risk" that the private media's pursuit of profit could compromise its ability to act as a watchdog for democracy. It goes on to suggest "implies a need to establish legal safeguards providing for the assignment of liability in the event of lawsuits, and establishing the right to reply".

"The cases of unrestricted ownership concentration or of scarce content pluralism in the media are endangering cultural diversity and freedom of expression not only within national markets but also at European level. We need therefore strong European commitment to overcome those challenges especially in view of the new technologies and services in the media sector", said Committee chair Greek Socialist Katarina Batzeli (PES).

Weblogs and other new on-line media pose new challenges, say MEPs. The growth of commercial media outlets for user-generated content, such as photos and videos, used without paying a fee, raises problems of ethics and privacy, and puts journalists and other media professionals under pressure, they say.

The report "on concentration and pluralism in the media in the European Union" - drafted by Estonian Socialist Marianne Mikko - also warns against the concentration of the media in the hands of a few companies because the media is vital to safeguarding democracy. "The media remains a powerful tool, which should not be treated solely in economic terms," she said. The report calls for social and legal guarantees to journalists and editors. It will be put to the vote in the full plenary in the future.

Ms Mikko told us "the blogosphere has so far been a haven of good intentions and relatively honest dealing. However, with blogs becoming commonplace, less principled people will want to use them".

Asked if she considered bloggers to be "a threat", she said "we do not see bloggers as a threat. They are in position, however, to considerably pollute cyberspace. We already have too much spam, misinformation and malicious intent in cyberspace". She added, "I think the public is still very trusting towards blogs, it is still seen as sincere. And it should remain sincere. For that we need a quality mark, a disclosure of who is really writing and why. "

Belgian MEP Ivo Belet (who acted as an advisor on the report for the Industry committee) said "weblogs and user generated content contribute in a lively and fresh way to a colourful and many-sided media landscape. They should not be restrained". The centre right EPP-ED member did concede however that some legal issues such as privacy and the right of reply need to be addressed.

German Liberal Jorgo Chatzimarkakis acted as advisor for the Economic and Monetary committee. He told us that "bloggers cannot automatically be considered a threat, but imagine pressure groups, professional interests or any other groups using blogs to pass on their message. Blogs are powerful tools, they can represent an advance form of lobbyism, which in turn can be seen as a threat". He said "any blogger representing or expressing more than their personal view should be affected by this report."

Thank you for all your comments, a story about some of those responses will be published soon.

Well said. We are moving closer. The conditions are being created for a real backlash. Forget about Islam for a moment. Islam would not be a problem were it not for the white Marxist traitors currently in power in Europe. Therefore, political action must be directed at the EU first.

heck sweden is feminist heaven/hell

but i cant feel bad but for the innocents. their leaders told them what they were making, and they went along with it anyway.

"The party did all it could to induce women to go into industry. Its fashion designers created special styles for them and its songwriters wrote special songs to spur them.... War-period conditions, they planned, were to become a permanent part of the future educational program. The bourgeois family as a social unit was to be made obsolete." (153)

There was to be no family but the party and the state. Dodd helped organize the Congress of American Women, a forerunner of the feminist movement.

"Since it was supposedly a movement for peace, it attracted many women. But it was really only a renewed offensive to control American women... Like youth and minority groups, they are regarded as a reserve force of the revolution because they are more easily moved by emotional appeals." (194-195)

"A world where men and women would be equal is easy to visualize, for that precisely is what the Soviet Revolution promised." -- Simone de Beauvoir, The Second Sex, (New York, Random House, 1952), p.806

"If life is to survive on this planet, there must be a decontamination of the Earth. I think this will be accompanied by an evolutionary process that will result in a drastic reduction of the population of males." -- Mary Daly, former Professor at Boston College, 2001

"The threat of environmental crisis will be the 'international disaster key' that will unlock the New World Order." -- Mikhail Gorbachev, quoted in "A Special Report: The Wildlands Project Unleashes Its War On Mankind", by Marilyn Brannan, Associate Editor, Monetary & Economic Review, 1996, p. 5

anyway... you can read hundreds of documents in that femnism was a fifth column with the intent of creating a commnuist utopia, that would not have men.

so swedens men, and otehrs have been emasculated... and so they dont defend their women any more.

now islam is moving in since judeo christianity was subvered and turned its men into jello

Dodd reveals that the CPUSA had 1100 members become Catholic priests in the 1930's. It also subverted the American education system by taking over the teacher's unions and learned societies. Only people who accepted the "materialistic, collectivistic international class struggle approach" advanced. (98)

while this is american stuff, the movemetn was global, and as dodd above shows, it was planned and the women were selected for being gullible.

they created all the same things with different names. and a rose by anyother name is something else. they also gutted things from the inside and replaced them a la machiavelli.

Dodd describes Communism as "a strange secret cult" whose goal is the destruction of Western (i.e. Christian) Civilization. Millions of naïve idealists ("innocents") are tricked by its talk of helping the poor, but it cares only for power. For example, Dodd found there was no social research at party headquarters. "We are a revolutionary party, not a reform party," she was told. (163)

The Communist Party operates by infiltrating and subverting social institutions like the churches, schools, mass media and government. Its aim was "to create new types of human beings who would conform to the blueprint of the world they confidently expected to control." (162)

"Every collectivist revolution rides in on a Trojan horse of 'emergency'. It was the tactic of Lenin, Hitler, and Mussolini. In the collectivist sweep over a dozen minor countries of Europe, it was the cry of men striving to get on horseback. And 'emergency' became the justification of the subsequent steps. This technique of creating emergency is the greatest achievement that demagoguery attains." -- Herbert Hoover

what better way to have a trojan horse than to let these people in... let them collapse things.. then come in sicne they cant fight, and exterminate them, leavin the place free to be occupied.

such is the lives of usful idiots.

They will pick on bloggers one at a time, so as to not upset the entire cart at once and cause a great backlash. People should stand up now and protest in the streets that bloggers are being hauled into the police for comments on their blogs.

As for the feminist issue, many women are not feminists. The word feminist has become synonymous with the word lesbian. Women who would have wanted to stay home and take care of their children and husband have now been put in a position where it is no longer financially possible to do so. I'm not going to go into it here, but if you look at the cause and effect changes that have been made over the years, you can definitely see how the feminist movement has destroyed the family unit in society - not for all, but for many.

I find it strange that you don't hear a peep out of feminists about how poorly women are treated in Islam - they should be all over this, but they are not. Why? Obviously, they do not care how women are treated in Islam, especially these women who are more than likely not lesbians and bare many children. Feminists cannot work with these women because Islam and their men forbid the changes they would like to see come about. Why would feminists stick their necks out for Muslim women who believe homosexuality is worthy of death and have men who would have no problem carrying out the deed.

This is the logical outcome of cowards in power. Unable to deal with the real problem, they abuse those speaking out against it...

This cliche is a standard of American blogs but it is not even remotely true.

Does it make sense that the EU do everything they possibly can to destroy European civillisation (through Islam) because they are scared that if they don't Muslims will destroy European civillisation?

The EU elites are not cowards - they are evil and tyrannical men. The "coward" memo is just American blustering.

If Washington were to honestly accept the reality of Islam and the totalitarian European Union they would be forced by virtue of their most sacred principles of liberty to oppose these forces.

Obviously that won't come to pass.

But this is less defensible for random, anonymous American blog commenters who don't have to attend state dinners with Sarkozy, appease the Saudi Royal family or pretend that freedom is spreading exponentially throughout the world when it clearly is not.

Agree with every word Fjordman, I have posted several times on here that I believe we - that is the indiginous European people - are now engaged in civil war with the governments of our nations.

The EUSSR isn't just some amusing moniker, it is a very accurate description of what the EU is all about. It represents a marxist attack, a caclulated, deliberate and destructive act of war against western judeo-christian societies.

Nation states will cease to exist. National elected government will cease to exist. Unelected EU elites will rule all of Europe. If you doubt this, just see what these marxist scum have done after referendums in France, Holland and more recently, Ireland.

Even though the people have voted to reject the EUSSR, it carries on regardless because there isn't a "no" vote in the EUSSR. In effect, this is a Coup d' Etat, an act of war against the people.

What is so desperate is that most people in Europe either don't care about this or aren't even aware of what is really happening, believing every single morsel spoon-fed to them by the marxist controlled media.

It is to our eternal shame - and history will judge us harshly - that so many people can be cowered into accepting the destruction of their own nations and the betrayal of their own people.

When the Berlin wall was torn down by the people in 1989, most of us thought western freedoms and democracies would flow into the DDR. How utterly misguided because it is the marxist-communist ideology that has flooded into Europe.

Time is running out for us.

Henrik R Clausen said...

As usual, being in Denmark is an unfair advantage :)

I don't consider us at civil war with our governments. Interstingly, more conservative governments are running Europe now than has been for ages. That in itself ain't bad, and we can work with these people and help them do meaningful things.

Like here in Denmark, we just made a concerted effort to make welfare payouts dependent on parents getting their kids in schools, abstaining from riots etc. The Left is screaming, of course, but with DPP the majority for the proposal is solid. A partial implementation of that idea is set to be put into law this fall.

But we have a problem, a big one. Electing conservative governments doesn't make much of a difference, for EU runs most of the stuff anyway. They are directing our government agencies with their 'directives', 'recommendations', 'regulations' etc., and that does not leave much leverage for the publicly elected government to do what makes sense.

This 'engranage' is one of the most tricky ideas ever invented, and it works great in hollowing out our nation-states.

It has been interesting so far to watch than when EU reaches for our crown jewels, the European constitutions, it has failed so far. They still try, of course, and Lisbon might be implemented by technicalities instead of a large, all-encompassing Treaty - which is something to watch out for.

But I refuse to use the term 'Marxism' in this context. Marxism is a specific ideology, and is pretty much dead by its own stupidity, at least in its explicit form. Calling these people 'Marxists' is a derogative easily dismissed. Something else is at play, which we need to understand in more detail than just assuming it to be 'Marxism'.

I believe that the nation-state is the appropriate structure to yank back power from Brussels. But I agree that we are in for decades of decay and chaos.

I am concerned by the lack of moral and the lack of historical and cultural understanding among fellow citizens - and were speaking Denmark not Sweden or France.

But things ARE turning - people are being fed up with the lies. They tolerate the lies as long as they keep riding on the (ending?) tide of money.

Something WILL happen. The question is only WHERE and WHEN.

Oh. We read books, too. Not much mention of PlayStations, though.

It's enjoyable, one meets interesting people, and it might even make a difference in the long run.

Your post is confusing :-/

First you start by disagreeing then you continue by...agreeing with me then dismissing the cause.

It comes down to this: If the Danish politicians ratify Lisbon then they are at war with you. End of errand.

Marxism is alive and kicking. It is the driving force behind the EU. The marxists are the ones promoting mass immigration, expanding welfare, smashing judeo-christian values, dismantling the nation state and turning law and order upside down so that the criminal is now the victim. It is marxists who promote the interests of minorities over the majority and it is the marxists who demonise opponents with Owrellian hate-crimes: Racist, fascist, homophobe, xenophobe etc.

And as Fjordman has written so many times, it is marxist red groups like Antifa, UAF, Searchlight etc. who act violently against anyone who speaks against the colonisation of their land and with the full assent of government in many European nations.

The government in the UK even uses tax-payers money to fund these subversive groups. One such group in the UK is causing real damage and has infiltrated key structures of society which it then destroys.

If you truly believe marxism is dead then may I suggest you visit this website and watch the video on the homepage about Common Purpose:

Common Purpose

Sinister isn't it? I'm sure there must be similar groups in other EUSSR nations. This is the enemy within and they are far more dangerous than Islam could ever be.

We are in a civil war. We have been for about 40 years. The problem is that many people just don't know or understand what is going on.

The EUSSR has to be stopped. That is the war we have right now.

Henrik R Clausen said...

Defiant Lion, thanks for the challenge :)

If my post is confusing, it's probably due to me being confused myself. I've read up on the European Union, and this is confusing to itself.

Refusing to use the word 'Marxist' is deliberate, as I think it is not particular useful. Marxism is a specific ideology invented by a specific person, Karl Marx. Hardly anyone would admit to follow these ideas, and calling others 'Marxists' is counterproductive. We need better labels if they are to be useful.

EXPO, Antifa etc. are using fascist methods demonizing who they percieve to be their enemies. The fact that some of these take money from the state (Sweden -> EXPO) is a problem.

Am watching the video now, and it's surely chilling. There's a lot of stuff to learn from, for ordinary, decent citizens should be doing some of these things by themselves rather than spending their time on PlayStation and other diversions.

The amount of information I'm getting - like this - is staggering, and I'm having trouble digesting it all and putting it into context.

One line I hear regarding Common Purpose is "You're the taxpayer who paid for it". That's interesting - and a weakness.

We have interesting times ahead of us...

I find it strange that you don't hear a peep out of feminists about how poorly women are treated in Islam - they should be all over this, but they are not. Why?

because they were not created to help women, but to create a soviet state. the suffragettes were not feminists, neither were others, those things are misattributions.

from george kenans long telegram and even before that the main push was said to be through minorities, and women.

why?

oh, thats easy... the men that can fight and defend are emasculated. they then bail on their own society.

to those that want the power here, it does not matter who unseats it, as long as who does it isnt more powerful.

one has to understand the fundemental differences between a totalitarian state and its options and a republic of limited government.

a totalitarian state can use all manner of subversives and misfits to unseat the power base. they can use islam to wear the place down, hurt things financially, and more

all without worrying too much that someone will read history and read as to their actions fomenting such things. after all, where has the weapons come from for the past 70 plus years?

the kicker is what happens later. the country with the same but worse state that murdered 100 million will then run roughshod over islam.

you see, the truth is that as long as they US exists, all the old ways of controlling populations are not as easily on the table. they are not gone, but they are not rampant without regard.

without the US, then nuclear extermination of islam is an easy thing.

after all, who on this planet other than the US and west could stand up to an onslaught of 32 million chinese walking over the continent?

well, since all our manufacturing is intheir hands, we cant do anything either.

but unlike other states americans have firearms and serious ones too. and so until someone else takes the blame for first strike and the mess, and uses up their ammunition, it will be a nasty take over otherwise.

we of course dont care... we dont understand that nothing has actually changed in the world... the criminal preys on the weaker because the cop is not around. but the cop is the stronger, that preys on the weaker when the even weaker call.

well, war and such are outside this pecking order, and so the rules have not changed.

you make the other side give up, and so you win and can do what you want.

exterminating millions has been done, and the political organizations taht did it are still in power, they have never been taken apart, so they are actually doing more now than they did when we were all locked tight.

the feminist leaders told the women what they were making, and the women were so selfish over everything else. turns out that humans never knew that women would throw everything under the bus and damn the consequences if they could get their way.

and so we are all in the crapper, and all just waiting for the new masters...

the feminsits were communist traitors, and every woman that followed thm turned out to be the same whether knowingly or not.

now they get what they worked for. the men cant stop it, they never could, as the women started by beating up their own families and loved ones, who still love the undeserved lot.

most men today dont care that many women are no feminist... whooppeee... too late... this is like a few men standing by and watching a rape and not doing anything because they dont think they should.

thas from a prior post and so there really isnt anything to be done as the women cant cahnge that fast, and we dont ahve the time.

right now the feminist sons are willint to sell everyone down the river, or under the bus so they think to make their masters happy.

not my problem.
not the mens problem.

its a womans problem now and as you look aroudn, remember they said that when they had their way the world would be what way?

now we have slut classes for grade school kids, no one selects women like the did before for who they are now its whther you wear fetish wear hotter than a babalonian whore (which is an insult to the babalonian whores!).

its what the feminist movement knweo they would make since the idea was to homogenize the slave lumpen proletariat.

but heck... the women sided blindly with women rather than their families, the men that lvoed them and those that were looking out after thm.

this is the result, and most just want to get thorugh life and let the ladies have the world.

they messed it up, and they will either have to fix it or let it run its course.

as they cant motivate the demoralized they created.

these were your leaders. befoer you took their word and attacked your families (or didnt stop your sisters from doing so but said you go girl), the result is what we have now.

high taxes, high crime, no services, low freedom, totalitarianism is rampant, no privacy, state in everything, state confsicating property, the list goes on.

they created the monster that is now so empowered by the left, that it will eventually shut down all conversation, not just the blogger kind.

I find it strange that you don't hear a peep out of feminists.

Guess what? In Denmark we do.

Kvinder for Frihed ("Women for Freedom") is doing exactly that, speaking up against Islam. And they have a (short, though) list of similar orgs.
