Brownshirt Tactics Against Sverigedemokraterna

Are you tired of looking under Vlaams Belang’s bed for neo-Nazis?

When you open the Sweden Democrats’ closet, are the skeletons that fall out less than satisfyingly fascist?

Do you want to know where the real Nazis are in Europe?

I’ll tell you where they are: they’re on the Left, the same place they’ve always been.

Ever since Rosa Luxemburg’s bully boys were beating up on Ernst Röhm’s bully boys on the streets of Berlin in the early ’20s, the thugs of the Left have been the champions of coercive force and the strong-arm methods. When the swastika-clad crowds roared their “Sieg Heil!” at Nürnberg, the forces of thuggish Socialism were in the ascendant. The only argument back then was between those who wanted their Socialism national, and those who preferred it international.

The single greatest success of the Left over the last seventy years has been to convince a gullible public that fascism and Nazism were of the Right. It was the great victory of Socialism.

You could call it the Triumph of the Will.

Consider this particular example of modern Multicultural fascism being visited upon Sverigedemokraterna (the Sweden Democrats), the only party in Sweden that resists the country’s official policy of unlimited Third World immigration. The Nazi-style arm-twisting is, as usual, coming from the Left:

Unions mull Sweden Democrat ban

Members of the far-right Sweden Democrats should be denied trade union membership, according to a large proportion of leading union representatives.
- - - - - - - - -
Almost a third (31 percent) of district chairmen in the IF Metall, Grafikerna and Pappers unions would like to see a ban placed on Sweden Democrat (SD) members, despite the fact that the party gains more support from union members than from the population as a whole.

A survey carried out by Novus Opinion on behalf of Dagens Arbete has shown that 5.8 percent of the country’s industrial workers would vote for the right-wing populist party if there was an election today.

Of the trade unions surveyed, IF Metall’s district chairmen were most critical, with 49 percent calling for a ban on Sweden Democrat members. 22 percent of Grafikernas’ chairmen and 13 percent of Pappers’ chairmen also supported the idea of banning Sweden Democrats.

But the district heads did not have the backing of their national chairmen.

“SD is an undemocratic organization that advocates things that we don’t share. But to issue a general ban on members is not something I think we should do,” Pappers chairman Jan-Henrik Sandberg told Dagens Arbete.

But this, of course, is not where the danger lies. The danger in Europe, as everyone knows, comes from a resurgent neo-fascist Right.

And if you believe that, I’ve got this little piece of swampland in Florida that you might be interested in buying…

If they are not members of the union, they cannot hold a job (let someone correct me if I am wrong on that). If these party members are kicked out of the union, they are as good as fired. This is, basically, the scariest case of blacklisting in recent memory, reminiscent of the worst totalitarian regimes.

John Ray has also often pointed out that the Nazis were people of the left. His blog is here.

You don't have any more of that Nebraskan Beach Property, with ocean view, for sale? *smile*

Otherwise I agree, it's really hard to find a right-wing fascist or nazi, whereas the left is overflowing with them...

You’ve given the secret away! Fascism is indeed a variant of socialism. You can also call this “triumph of the Big Lie.”

Sweden is a member of the EU. The EU court ruled, not to long ago, that noone can be forced into a union. Freedom of association and all that. If someone gets fired from or denied a job for not being a member of a union, they can sue.

Oh, the irony: only a few miles to the west the unions are going out of their way trying to keep members from defecting. Which they are doing by the hundreds of thousands. The Danish trade unions are in their terminal agony...

One technical quibble: Rosa Luxemburg was murdered by the German right in 1919, so unless she was directing the German Communists from the grave, they had other leadership during the 1920's.

Who would that be?

BTW, the SD can't be all that big a bunch of Nazis, as even LGF seems to have dropped the jihad against them.

magnus said...

Haha! Grafikerna = Trademark Commies. :-) ...

First I have to say that Sverigedemokraterna has had a history with quite many supremacists and anti-semitic people before 1995, and then things drastically get gradually much better. 2001 a bunch of those left with doubtful ideology left for a new party, Nationaldemokraterna, which SD has no connection with. One SD represent had connetion to NF which ended 2002, and the only international contact since then is Dansk Folkeparti. No connections with VB (since I think 2001-2002) because they was suspected of Nazi connections and supremacism.

So before 2004 I was still very anti-SD, due to individual persons I didn't trust. A few not trustful people left 2003-2004. SD have lately become quite good with many new people from other parties. Since then also the Swedish immigrant politics has become worse too (virtually anarchy).

Now: The labor organization Grafikerna. The was very communist in the 70s. This is from Zenit, a socialistic magazine (pdf-file from Marxist Arkiv):

efter APK:s utbrytning ur VPK lämnade för övrigt SKP:s starkaste fackliga grupp (grafikerna i Stockholm med Sture Ring i spetsen), organisationen bl a med hänvisning till SKP:s idiotpolitik gentemot VPK."

There are many communist parties in Sweden, and this quotation is about the 70s when there was a communist party split. The strongest union group within one of the communist parties, SKP, was little Grafikerna. Grafikerna are doing the print job for papers, books etc. The Grafikerna was always politically very extreme, quite much pro Soviet too, I remember. They was always considered extreme leftist/communists. Maybe some of the far left tradition of this union’s still alive. ;-)

(Pappers and Metall is also quite left, but no communist majority.)

This old communism of Grafikerna doesn't make SD better, but SD has been a quite normal party for some years now, and I hope it will be even more stable party without a slightest connections of its past -- which maybe already is fulfilled; but all politicians who started in the late 90s is of course still in SD. I think that's a minor problem since the development of the party has been perfectly good.

I guess that Expo may cooperate with Grafikerna, because Expo cooperate with any organization that will help them to fight Sverigedemokraterna. Pro-political-violence far left group Antifascistisk Aktion was a partner to Expo just recently.

It was actually quite fun to see Grafikerna “on their feet” again, so long time after the for them supposedly sad year 1989. ;-)

I'm no SD expert, but I read a thin (140 page) Expo book about SD this weekend and consider to vote SD. They looks okay now and are needed as the only anti-immigration party, abortion skeptics, pro-Israel etc.

You're right; and I know that. But those were still "Rosa's bully-boys" in 1922; they rallied under her banner, a martyr for the cause.

But still... that was sloppy rhetoric on my part. :(

This is one reason why I am thankful to have the right to bear arms. Because this is one of those situations where some people need to be shot, or afraid of being shot. When the left takes away your ability to work, and your free speech rights to complain about it, then there is no recourse other than arms.

It is bad enough that if I were to go out of my way to tell HR that I object to gay marriage then the liberal ladies there would see me fired for being intolerant, but for a union or employer or employer's gatekeeper were to actually seek out someone's party affiliation and take their job for it, that is when it is time for revolution.

Conservative Swede said...

It's good to get some American common sense reactions to this sort of tyranny. You see, in Sweden people act as if this was completely normal and acceptable.

Richard Jomshof of SD was in 2002 fired from his job as a teacher, specifically for being a Sweden Democrat. He was 100% supported by the pupils, but a "popular" protest had been staged by the political left.

Here's what Mona Sahlin said about it:

"Jag hade reagerat om mina barn haft en lärare som är sverigedemokrat. För mig är det en förtroendefråga. En lärare i samhällskunskap är inte trovärdig om han på fritiden vill köra ut invandrare för senare i skolan arbeta enligt läroplanen."

Translation:
"I would also have reacted if my children had a teacher that is a Sweden Democrat. For me it's a question of credibility. A teacher in social studies is not credible if he in his free time want to drive out immigrants while at the same time working according to the education plan in the school."

Mona Sahlin is the party leader of the Social Democrats, i.e. the Swedish "state party", who's only temporarily out of power. She's one of the most powerful politicians in Sweden.

So do the Swedes react to this flagrant exposure of tyranny? The elite is not even trying to hide it, but boast smugly and self-righteously about it, all openly (quite like AFA about their tyranny).

No the Swedes do not react. They accept it as perfectly normal. Who would dare to react? If you are defending the "Nazis", what murky motivations could you possible have? You must be a "Nazi" yourself! And good and decent people do not particularly like being called "Nazis", so they simply shut up.

What about credibility and democracy regarding Mona Sahlin? Remember that it's these kind of people Charles Johnson is listening to when deciding who's a Nazi in Europe.

Very interesting... Vlaams Belang-members have likewise been banned from some of the Unions. In Belgium this is a possibly painful event because in case of unemployment, the Union pays your unemployment compensation. The government merely collects the associated taxes and redistributes them to the unions based on their membership rolls, together with a "processing fee". There is a similar banning trend going on from the health insurance organisations.

Speaking about reactions and further to Baron's point - the lizards were having a pretty decent discussion about why/how the neo-Nazis ended up being labelled as far-right.Then this little gem pops up:

re: #29 Golem Akbar

re: #27 zuckerlilly

Since the end of September 2007 the neo-Nazis from the NPD are the "sister-party" of Vlaams Belang. They have now a common policy for the EU-campaign.

Yes, and the more you read LGF, the more you'll learn about European fascism/Nazism, on the rise. It's fascinating and very scary.

For you it may be fascinating, for me it is disturbing. I live in Europe and watch this since many years. This is no new phenomenon.

But the idiots from GoV are whining about lefties in Sweden who want to ban members of the SD to join the unions. So they call now lefties the real Nazis.

I don't understand why GoV is still at Pajamas media.

============================

Why would a supposed con call another con "idiots" and "whining" for bringing this to people's attention? And why does she have a problem with Baron calling the left Nazis?

Now, nobody gave her a plus, but neither did they call her on this stupid remark (yet). I'm not trying to start another flame war here with LGF, but dang man. What is she, a closet socialist?

Geez.

Anyways, thanks for the article B.

ProFlandria is right. In fall 2006, there were municipal elections in Belgium. Afterwards, the unions threw out members who had been on VB lists.

A very ironic example is Pieter van Boxel, a VB militant, fraction leader in the town of Hamme, who was thrown out of the union for coming up in the town of Hamme. Pieter Van Boxel is of Indonesian descent. Take a brief look at his site.

Van Boxel joined the VB in August 2005. Since the municipal elections in 2006 he's the youngest fraction leader in Malle. In his dismissal letter the LBC [Van Boxel's union] stated that the fact that Van Boxel was candidate for the VB, “was incompatible with the democratic and antiracist values cherished by our organization..."

Since the municipal elections the VB has upped the battle against the exclusion of party miltants. Until this day, more than 400 VB members were thrown out of their unions. Especially the Christian Union uses very harsh methods, according to Marie-Rose Morel [op VB politician].

AngleofRepose said...

angleofrepose, thank you for your kind words. Did you click on Mr. Van Boxel's website? For a Neonazi White Supremacist his skin colour is a bit suspicious, huh? And have you seen his photo with Obersturmbannfuehrer Dewinter?

Hm, I see I was a bit wrong there. Piet Van Boxel is fraction leader in Malle, not in Hamme. Not that it matters much in this context.

RanDomino said...

This is probably futile, but the Nazi values of militarism, nationalism, authoritarianism, and traditional gender roles (female subservience and elimination of homosexuals), to name a few, are totally incompatible with leftism.

There were some similarities, such as percieved worker empowerment (which never actually happened in any fascist country) and slight hostility to the church in Germany and Italy, but that's about it.

To see which end of the political spectrum Fascism is on in general, you can just look at Franco's Spain- set up by Hitler and Mussolini, and a friend of the American Right.

AngleofRepose said...

Michael,

You're quite welcome.

I did indeed - yes, I saw that, although Piet isn't smiling... hmmm.. ;)

I also found another Vlaams Belang member yesterday from Sri Lanka. From the babelfish translation, she had her doubts but then had an interview with Obersturmbannfuehrer Dewinter and decided they were good peeps.

I'm havin fun with this. Learning history and taking baby steps towards learning Flemish. :)

There is a reason it is called National Socialism.

To quote Satan himself, this is from the Wikipedia entry on Markos Moulitsas Zúniga, founder of the Daily Kos:

He has described the military as "perhaps the ideal society – we worked hard but the Army took care of us in return."

It's really a scary shed of light on the liberal progressive that Kos thinks the ideal society for everyone is one in which we are all broken down and homogenised for obedience & efficiency.

I'll leave you with Winston Churchill's poignant first impressions of the American Army:

The young Sandhurt graduate was horrified by the discipline at West Point. 'They are not allowed to smoke or have any money in their possession,' he told his brother, 'nor are they given any leave except two months after the first two years.' This was a 'positively disgraceful' state of affairs. 'Young men of 24 or 25 who would resign their personal liberty to such an extent can never make good citizens or fine soldiers. A child who rebels against that sort of control should be whipped - so should a man who does not rebel.'

- Excerpt from Churchill: A Life by Martin Gilbert

I've been telling college students for thirty years that Nazis and Commies were NOT on opposite ends of a continuum, but bosom buddies and both firmly in the Statist camp

It was the National SOCIALIST German WORKERS Party, after all, and Hitler used the revolutionary color red to spice up those surplus Austrian army uniforms he bought to equip his first Stormtroopers.

Of course he used conservative rhetoric to gain votes, but all that was dropped when he snuck into power in the worst single backroom political deal in all of history........

" RanDomino said...

Where to start...
Militarism:

Jacked up federal agencies with para-military training and equipment, including sawed off shotguns, APC's, rifles and sub-machine guns with silencers.
This sort of thing got going under Tip O'Neil's war on drugs, and bigger under Clinton.

Our intervention in central Europe, not real militaristic? How about the leftist brownshirts shutting down free speech with various levels of official and unofficial police/political support.

Authoritarianism:

Silencing the opposition with Hillary's "goon Squads" and privite detectives, FBI files on all GOP legistators, the "fairness doctrinte", zero tolerance policies to dictate what you can say or write and still keep your job.

Traditional Gender Roles:

Killing off Homo's was a Hitlerian idea, not exactly a core Fascist idea from what I can tell. But we do know that the Soviets were not real kind to Homosexuals, and while Stalin was less efficient at doing them and Jews harm, he did kill/banish to the gulags quite a few of them. Does that make this an issue official platform item of the left?

As far as traditional roles for men and women, is that really a fascist idea? You throw the word about lightly if you think so.

Consider yourself refuted.

RanDomino said...

What... the fark... are you talking about?
it seems like you're accusing the US government of being leftist, which is utterly insane, so that can't be it...

Our intervention in central Europe, not real militaristic?

the hell?

How about the leftist brownshirts shutting down free speech with various levels of official and unofficial police/political support.

Who? What?

Seriously, you're totally incomprehensible.

Silencing the opposition with Hillary's "goon Squads" and privite detectives

Hillary Clinton is not a socialist, and the "goon squad" thing is... What the hell are you talking about??

FBI files on all GOP legistators

The FBI has files on every legislator. So?

the "fairness doctrinte"

Far-right pseudo-fascists dominate talk radio, so the idea to inject some life into the debate by mandating equal time was created... It was rejected for the obvious reasons, but blowhards keep on bringing it up, even though it's dead, dead dead dead, dead.

zero tolerance policies to dictate what you can say or write and still keep your job.

Yeah, just ask Ward Churchill.

But we do know that the Soviets were not real kind to Homosexuals, and while Stalin was less efficient at doing them and Jews harm, he did kill/banish to the gulags quite a few of them. Does that make this an issue official platform item of the left?

Because of reasons exactly like this, Stalin is despised by everyone on the left (except for a few die-hard Maoists who think time stopped in 1967).

Also, while some aspects of Fascism may be shared with some on the left here and there, all of them are only shared with people on the right.

As far as traditional roles for men and women, is that really a fascist idea? You throw the word about lightly if you think so.

Yeah, it is.
Hitler: "[a woman's] world is her husband, her family, her children, and her house."
Even if the tone that speech is from was ostensibly respectful, the point is about traditional gender roles.
It's not exclusively a Fascist idea, of course, but it is incompatible with leftism.
