Hamid Karzai, the president of Afghanistan, says that his government is planning to begin peace talks with the Taliban. The latest reports say that the Saudis will act as intermediaries, and the talks will be held in Saudi Arabia.
In other news, a prominent American economist says that the Eurozone may well collapse this year, and almost certainly in the next three to five years.
