I think it is a good idea to offer fast track citizenship to illegals that get a meaningful degree, and by that I mean, a degree that has value to the American economy not gender studies and its ilk.
What I do not agree with is that the citizens of our country should subsidize that education.
If you REALLY want to be a contributing member of our American society and, if you REALLY want to become an American citizen then finance your education yourself.
My younger son was born in CA. We lived and paid taxes in that state for over 12 years. Someone should explain to me why my son, an American citizen born in CA, should be made to pay out of state tuition to attend the UC Santa Barbara Language School when illegal immigrants would be granted in state tuition.
I know, the argument is that illegals living in CA would improve the work force if they were allowed subsidized tuition. Who is to say that my son wouldn't stay in CA and contribute to their work force if offered subsidized tuition?
