President Obama decided not to impose the tighter clean air regulations that had been proposed by the EPA. After considering the financial hardships that the new rules would have imposed on businesses and localities, not to mention the increase in unemployment, Mr. Obama decided to keep the Bush administration’s clean air standards in force until after next year’s elections.
In other news, supporters of “Palestine” disrupted a concert by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra several times last night with their loud protests. Because of the disturbances, the BBC felt it necessary to pull its live feed of the performance.
