Outrage continues to pour in over the action taken by Israel against the Gaza flotilla, and official condemnation from governments all over the world is all but unanimous. Turkey has escalated its harsh rhetoric against Israel, and insists that the Muslim world must unite against the Jewish State. Another flotilla has reportedly set sail in an attempt to breach the Gaza blockade, and this one may be accompanied by a Turkish naval escort.In other news, a series of major wind farms proposed for the Mojave Desert may have to be abandoned, due to objections by the U.S. military, who say huge windmills on the tops of ridges could disrupt radar and military flight patterns.

The British press seem intent on demonising the Israelis too. The tone of articles in papers like the Daily Mirror (see link) and in Scotland, the Daily Record (see link), is deeply biased against Israel. However if one reads the comments (or makes comments) one sees that it's true that as they say, you can't fool all of the people all of the time ...
What exactly is this guy (see link) holding in his hand btw? The weapon of choice for someone wanting to create a "lake of blood" or engage in "state terrorism" ... a paintball gun!
I've gone on to another story by one of the British papers, co-written by John Pilger and Stephen Pollard (although you wouldn't guess that by the headline) and commented. (See link.)
I think it's worth trying to bring some balance back to the debate here, and one of the only means we have at the moment is to comment on any newspaper articles that we can. How effective this will prove to be I can't say. I do think it's something we should all be doing though.
I don't know if the papers themselves pay much attention to the opinions of the people who comment on their online papers, but at least any other people who read them will be exposed to a different view. And if we manage to put forward an argument based on reason and evidence, some other people might even alter their views somewhat. You never know ...
IDF: Global Jihad on Flotilla
50 of Mavi Marmara passengers tied to global jihad network, refusing to identify themselves.
… 124 detained flotilla activists would be taken by bus to Jordan and sent from there to their home countries. The detainees are Jordanian, Mauritanian, Moroccan, Kuwaiti, Pakistani, Indonesian and Syrian.
Exactly where did these people from such far off lands as Pakistan and Indonesia get the funds for traveling all the way to Turkey just so that they could be arrested on the high seas?

I think so too. Eventually, the IDF just might begin sinking these boats in open water and chumming the location with shark bait. Israel has already displayed quite a degree of uncommon sense in defying world opinion and halting this maritime charade.
The flotilla that arrived late on Sunday night comprised six ships, and another two ships, including the Rachel Corrie, are expected to attempt to enter Israeli waters in the coming days.
The "Rachael Corrie"? As in St. Pancake? Quite the bit of naked pandering to their Liberal supporters in the West.
“We boarded the ship [the Mavi Marmara] and were attacked as if it were a war,” one officer said. “That will mean that we will have to come prepared in the future as if it were a war.”
Good. Blow off their propellers and steering gear for starters then hole them at the waterline if they return any fire.
