Update on Kurt Westergaard

A Danish commenter named blues has provided a translated summary of the events that occurred outside Kurt Westergaard’s house tonight:

Allah go Boom!A Somali male broke into Kurt Westergaard’s house tonight. He had an axe in his hand, but Kurt Westergaard managed to escape to a secured room in his house, which the intruder was unable to get into. The police arrived after two minutes (Westergaard has an alarm in his house connected to the police).

Outside the house the Somali man attacked the police. Two shots were fired by the police, and the Somali was wounded in his hand and knee.

Right now the police are waiting for the bomb squad in order to examine a bag that was left outside the house.

The Somali man is now in the hospital guarded by the police. The charge will be attempted murder.

According to Engineer-Poet, the BBC is reporting that the weapon was a “hammer”, rather than an axe.

Steen says:

It was an axe. He threw it after a policeman. That’s why he has two charges of attempted murder.

PET (Danish Secret Police) say the assailant is connected to Somali Al-Shabab terror movement.

Shots have been fired outside of cartoonist Kurt Westergaard’s home in Viby.

The cartoonist was at home and the alarm button was pushed as three men tried to force their way in.

The police department in East Jutland has confirmed the incident to politiken.dk. A press release will be sent out later tonight. The men were stopped by police officers monitoring Westergaard’s house. One of them has been shot in the leg and is now being treated in the hospital. The police now have a strong presence around the house, and neighbors have been evacuated.

According to Ritzau’s Bureau [Danish news agency] a bomb disposal unit has now arrived at Grøndalsvej in Viby, where the Jyllands-Posten cartoonist resides. Kurt Westergaard has been under death threats for many years. He drew one of the controversial Muhammad cartoons. In 2006 two men were arrested for conspiring to kill the cartoonist. And he has experienced bomb threats since that time.

Salman Rushdi was Islam's initial probe with regard to how far it could go in threatening modern Western institutions. Upon Khomeini's issuance of the death fatwa, the Ayatollah and several Iranian officials involved in its dispatch should have experienced abrupt and extremely hazardous incidents with a high potential for loss of life.

While it is difficult to criticize the Danish police for their humanity, had the attacking assailant been gunned down fatally in a hail of bullets, it might have sent a more useful message to all future aspiring Islamic Avengers™.

Of course, if Nidal Hasan's Fort Hood massacre and Umar Mutallab’s attempted destruction of Northwest Airlines flight 253 cannot be termed genuine "terrorist attacks", then perish the thought that Kurt Westergaard just experienced one of his own as well.

It's long past tea for people to connect the ever-expanding dots and realize that SJS (Sudden Jihad Syndrome) is merely a subset of overall Islamic Jihad and there is literally nothing that differentiates them from one other.

Westergaard is but one candidate on a growing list of potential and existing Western martyrs whose lives are at risk due to Islam's total incompatibility with modern civilization. Sister Leonella Sgorbati and her bodyguard are but two of the more recent Christian martyrs and there will be plenty more that we never hear about as Muslims, with total impunity, destroy some of the most ancient Coptic and Orthodox monasteries around the world.

Be it "linkage" or my own preferred term, "reciprocity", a much more aggressive form of this is required to combat Islam's predations. Turkish attempts to extinguish Mor Gabriel, the world's oldest functioning monastery, should be greeted with damage to equally ancient Mosques in the region. Efforts by Egyptian Muslims to

Events in Farshoot, Egypt echo the same sort of government sanctioned "religious cleansing" as that which is going on in Turkey:

Last month, hundreds of angry Muslims, and by some accounts thousands, attacked Coptic Christians in a southern Egyptian town over an allegation that a Christian man kidnapped and raped a Muslim girl.

The mob looted and burned at least 65 Christian-owned stores in Farshoot, about 300 miles south of Cairo, causing an estimated six million Egyptian pounds (over one million U.S. dollars) in damage, according to the Coptic American Friendship Association. Witnesses also reported that the mob made wooden crosses and burned them on the streets.

Following the incident, authorities reportedly put pressure on the Coptic Church in Nag Hammadi, which is under the same governorate as Farshoot, to tell the victims to accept extrajudicial reconciliation and reopen their businesses without compensation. Police in Farshoot also reportedly refused to issue police reports to victims, forcing them to travel 37 miles away to make a report with the Attorney General in Qena, the capital of the governorate.

The Christian community in Farshoot, however, said they will not be coerced into overlooking the mass riot and that they would unite to make authorities recognize what happened and punish perpetrators.

“There will be no reconciliation before full financial compensation has been paid to the Coptic victims, and the criminals are brought to justice, so that safety and security can be restored to the district,” said Bishop Kirollos of the Nag Hammadi Diocese, according to the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA)
.

The pattern is clear. Islam will continue to gnaw away at all forms of diversity within and without its borders until it either succeeds or is brought up short by a level of violence of equal or greater measure than that which it inflicts upon us Infidels.

The operational tempo of the international jihad appears to be accelerating -- emboldened, no doubt, by the deferential and contrite attitude of that creature in the White House.

We have, in Canada, a left wing that absolutely refuses to acknowledge that Muslim nutters even exist. To call what these pieces of $#!t do, a religious act is lunacy. They are barbaric thugs that should be killed on sight and their remains buried with pig entrails. The web story about Black Jack Pershing, true or not, he had the right idea in the Philippines.

I'm confused. The linked Politiken piece doesn't seem to mention "three men", just the one.

"En bevæbnet mand var trængt ind i hjemmet"

(I say "doesn't seem to" because I don't actually speak Danish but can read enough Swedish and German to follow the gist of the article.)

Interesting how BBC tv breakfast news earlier today reported the incident: ...we have a report from Denmark that a man has been arrested in connection with an alleged attack on Kurt Westergaard, the Danish cartoonist responsible for the controversial cartoons of "...the prophet Mohammed."

How's that for dhimmitude? Not "...the Muslim prophet Mohammed" but "...the prophet Mohammed."

Are they all Muslims at the BBC - or are they just suicidally politically correct?

BBC breakfast news this morning interviewed so-called terrorism expert Dr Sally Leivesley who constantly referred to Islamic terrorists as "criminals" - what's the betting this attack on Westergaard will be defined as 'criminal behaviour fired by mental health issues'?

The BBC does in fact have a lot of Muslims, and minorities in general, on its staff.
