“God, Guns, Guts, and American Pickup Trucks”

As a promotional gimmick, a Missouri pickup truck dealer named Mark Muller is giving away a free AK-47 with the purchase of every pickup.

I don’t have to tell you what CNN thought of this idea. However, when anchorbabe Carol Costello interviewed him, Mr. Muller handled himself very well. He never lost his cool in the face of tendentious questioning, never stopped being polite and reasonable — and in the process, nailed her objections to the floor.

I love this guy. Many thanks to Vlad Tepes for Youtubing the interview:

“You don’t think God wants us to defend ourselves??”

This guy is actually the brother of a popular libertarian morning radio talk show host named Mancow Mueller.

He has been doing the guns with cars/trucks thing for a while. Being located in rural Missouri makes him pretty much immune to Liberal critics anyway :)

The only 911 call I need is chambering a round.

Now, that's a keeper!

That man is good.

That woman was overbearing. There was no need for it. Mr. Muller is enough of a gentleman to pause and give the interviewer time to ask.

I have to tell you yankees that I plain flat feel envious of the fact that the right to bear arms is so respected in the USA.

And Americans make great pickup trucks!

Having said that I will say that the best cars are from Europe! The Americans may have made building cars an art, it is the Germans and Italians who took that example and ran with it.

All American, no dobut.

"You don’t think God wants us to defend ourselves?? I'm confused"

Got to love it.

However, I also think that an AK47 may be too much... well, who cares?

And Snouck, what about English cars!?
I mean, Bentleys, Land Rovers, ancient MGs (man, Japanese cars like the MX-5 are so gay), Lotus and of course, Aston Martin...

The English cars had something unique about them, some royal touch... My favourite cars would easily be English, I only pitty theu have lost the touch long ago.

Still, an Aston Martin, is an Aston Martin.

According to his page the promotion's been retired "due to overwhelming demand and lack of inventory."

At the same time, whatever AK-47 he's talking about isn't the same as an AK-47 in Iraq. They nearly always have to be modded for semi-auto fire only to be legal in the US (federal regulations). It is possible (very difficult and expensive) to get a Class III license to own a machine gun - but I highly doubt that's what this deal is about - the dealer says $450-$500 - that's a semi-auto model.

BeltainAmerica said...

Yes they are semi-auto models. Full auto models are illegal in the US even if you have a permit for a full auto weapon (a very rare permit too).

He was actually giving out a voucher for the truck buyer to purchase the rifle and after they got the truck he would honor the voucher at wherever it was redeemed. He sells trucks all over the country and has them delivered so not all the AK's could be gotten locally and there are of course different rules for owning an AK47 depending on state. Also it was upto the gun dealer to then handle the "legal" back ground checks etc.

This is all quite appropriate as a Kalashnikov is a sort of "pickup truck." That is, it is not fancy, but it is dirt simple and very reliable.

Well, let me suggest that you google www.arsenalinc.com in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some months ago, I purchased a Model SLR 107F in 7.62x39. These are probably the very best Kalashnikovs currently made in the US and I am extremely pleased with mine.
If you do decide to spend your hard earned coin, go all the way and get a bunch of magazines and at least a couple of crates of ammo. You do not know how much longer any of this will be available as a very high priority of our ultra corrupt political class is to disarm us completely. This will make it a lot easier to "merge" us with Mexico.

Tuan Jim,

Interesting,I thought from the video that the AK47s were automatic. Your comments suggest that semi-automatics are legal in the US. In Australia most semi-automatic weapons(including mine) were confiscated by the Feds 13 years ago. We weren't disarmed,as some US commentators claim,I ended up with a bolt action .22,not quite the same as a Franchi self-loading shotgun, however.

Listen to the nice man and do everything he says. Notice the emphasis upon hoarding ammo? This is the trick for all who do not take the time to learn about reloading.

In the long run brass will over-rule iron save for those who know how to reload. I have no right to squawk as I am not a gun-owner ... YET. Although that is going to change DAMN soon.

PS: The reason why you hear so much about Kalashnikovs is that they are made to withstand hard field use, including infrequent cleaning, and a resistance to jamming or misfire due to abuse. I can only wish that America's M series had the same reputation.

Here's a preview of how America's soldiers might be making some serious whoopie.

Snouck, I see that you are from the Netherlands. My understanding is that
the gun laws are quite draconian there. Except, of course, for the "Cultural Enrichers" who smuggle weapons in by the truckload so that they will eventually be able to expand their "no-go" areas.

Fjordman has stated repeatedly here at GoV that native Europeans should be aquiring the means of self defense, if possible. I agree.
Just a suggestion: are high quality spring-piston airguns in .177 caliber available where you are? These are low powered and with a proper bullet trap can be used safely indoors.
They are excellent for basic marksmanship training and constant practice. The very small .177 pellets are dirt cheap and once you spend the money for the airgun you can fire thousands of rounds in practice for very little money.
Another possibility as training tools (and just plain fun) would be Airsoft guns which shoot 6mm plastic BB's.

Yes, these sad events were widely covered here in the firearms press. Subsequently we have read that violent crime rates have gone UP dramatically since your government "improved" everything.
I feel for you, Brother, and I am acutely aware that WE'RE NEXT.

Thank you for your kind words, Zenster. We are on the same wavelength here: any ammo you think you may need down the line, stock up NOW.

I googled one of the big on-line suppliers, J&G sales, and a case of 7.62x39mm costs about $250 (not including shipping charges.)

STOCK UP NOW.

Patriot,

I checked the rate for homicide by firearm for Australia, from 1915 on,it actually started to decline in 1969,and the trend has continued. This was 25 years before the draconian legislation was introduced, of course the anti-gun lobby claims the credit.Who cares about cause and effect?

We've certainly experienced an increase in random violence on defenceless victims.

Yes, such guns can be purchased and owned in The Netherlands. I actually did. It is also possible to purchase and own 0.22 airguns. But both of these are just toys really.

It is also possible to own real pistols and rifles, but one has to become a member of a gunclub for a year before one can apply for a permit. I never took the trouble.

To use the guns in self-defense in case of a burglary can cause a person a lot of grief.

That is the catch.

It is humiliating to have to jump through all these hoops to own a weapon. We are treated like children in my country and most people have so lost their sense of honour that they think it is a good thing.

And then there is spite. My recurring nightmare is turning up at Knob Creek with an airgun. :-)

Snouck

Just thought you'd like to know that I am selling Mark Muller's now-famous motto on a very cool t-shirt:

I loved his interview and had to call him. He's a great guy and he gave me permission to print the shirt.

"GOD, GUNS, GUTS, AND AMERICAN PICKUP TRUCKS"

Check it out at: GetRightBack.com

I hope to hear from you!
