Hmm…that sounds offensive to me. Glad they removed those suckers.
But…the reality turned out to be a little more puly and Politikally Korrect than that:
The city museum of The Hague has decided not to include in an exhibition a work of art that may offend Muslims, it was reported on Monday.
The picture, made by Iranian artist Sooreh Hera, is entitled Adam and Ewald and shows two gay men wearing masks of the Muslim prophet Mohammed and his son-in-law Ali.
It is part of a photoseries the Gemeentemuseum has included in the 7up exhibition due to open on December 15.
The Gemeentemuseum’s director Wim van Krimpen told reporters the museum is interested in purchasing Hera’s complete series, which he called “high quality works of art”.
However, he added he will not exhibit Adam and Ewald in the next few years because “certain people in our society might perceive it as offensive”.
Hera responded she was “disappointed” and added “apparently a Muslim minority decides what will be on display in the museum”.
Oh, of course. “Certain people” might “perceive” it as offensive. Oh my…can’t have that. Why, those c.p.'s would be sulking and next thing you know they’d be refusing any more government handouts and maybe they’d decide to leave.
Or maybe - just speaking statistically about behavior here - they might burn the museum down and behead the curator and rape his children.
Poor Holland. Tolerant Holland. The universe is paying you back for all that wonderful, morally superior “tolerance.” She sent you zero-tolerance barbarians. See, She’s doing an experiment: what will it take for you to grow a spine, dear Netherlands?
You conquered the ocean and held it back. Now a flood of human beings is drowning everything you once were.
Weep for your children…though, of course, Ewald won’t be having any, but he no less deserves your sorrow. He is your child, too.
UNIVERSE TO HOLLAND: WHERE IS YOUR SPLEEN ??

While the homoerotic photography or art is not my cup of tea, the photos themselves that I viewed were quite tame. The video compilation that Sooreh links on her web site is much more more provocative.
If we are to have free speech, there should be no sacred cows. The museum has the right to choose what it displays but should apply the same standards across the board.
Nobody rides for free. Islam should not get a free pass. The artist, Sooreh Hera makes a statement " Religion always want control over the sexuality of human exercise, the most compelling ban the taboo on homosexuality. De drie grote godsdiensten zijn altijd fel gekant geweest tegen elke afwijkende vorm van sexuele beleving: binnen de islamitische wereld staat op homosexualiteit nog steeds de doodstraf. The three great religions have always been strongly opposed to any form of deviant sexual experience within the Islamic world stands on homosexuality still the death penalty." . While I wouldn't hang her stuff in my house, I am sure others would like to see her work. Where is the backbone of the Hague Museum?
Here is an auto English translation of the Adam and Ewald project of Sooreh Hera page. You can see the photos yourself or view the racy video.
I looked at Adam and Ewald. Which is which?
That must be some crummy Garden of Eden -- they sure don't seem real happy.
Oh...maybe that was after the Fall.
"Which is which?" LOL Dymphna. Nobody ever explained the rules to me. At least for the first picture... If I had to guess I guess Adam, is the one with the coat on and Ewald is the one with the sleeveless leopard bare mid-drift thing and the bikini briefs... but what do I know???
I say get the photo exhibit over to Denmark, maybe they will display it over there. I doubt that Sooreh's photo show has a chance here in Sweden.
Maybe we Christians should start rioting and burning down a few buildings whenever a "Piss Christ" or "Dung Madonna" makes an appearance.
The tactic certainly has been proven effective.
I do like the use of PK or Politikally Korrect. I think that should be the rallying cry of sensibility.
