Two sixty-year-old locomotives have been called out of retirement from a railway museum in northern Sweden. Their mission? To clear the tracks on lines in southern Sweden, which has seen the greatest amount of snow in a century. Temperatures have been so low that salt is not effective on the roadways, and Sweden has significantly exceeded its snow-removal budget so far this winter.
