Gates of Vienna News Feed 12/13/2010

Gates of Vienna News Feed 12/13/2010Over the last 24 hours massive amounts of information have been published about the Stockholm suicide bombing, the circumstances of the explosion, and the background on the young mujahid who carried out the failed attack. Rather than attempt new posts on the topic, I’ve collected a dozen or so articles and included them in tonight’s feed.

We learn that the bomber left behind a widow and children in Luton, where he obtained his “education”. His wife works as a hairdresser, and was totally surprised to learn that he had turned to violent jihad. One story alleges that the Swedish military knew in advance that the attack was going to happen on Saturday night. Al Qaeda has claimed the dead man as one of their own.

In other news, Iran says that the British police were “violent and inhumane” in their handling of the student riots in London last week.

Thanks to Barry Rubin, Bobbo, C. Cantoni, DF, Fjordman, Gaia, heroyalwhyness, Insubria, JD, KGS, Kitman, Nilk, and all the other tipsters who sent these in.

Commenters are advised to leave their comments at this post (rather than with the news articles) so that they are more easily accessible.

Caveat: Articles in the news feed are posted “as is”. Gates of Vienna cannot vouch for the authenticity or accuracy of the contents of any individual item posted here. We check each entry to make sure it is relatively interesting, not patently offensive, and at least superficially plausible. The link to the original is included with each item’s title. Further research and verification are left to the reader.

The leadership of Iran would know all about "violent and inhumane" reactions.

Accusations do tend to reveal more about the accusor than the accused.
