Making the Rule of Law Inoperative

ESW trial, day 1, #1

The essay below by Andreas Unterberger is follow-up to his previous article on the trial of Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff. Our German translator JLH has this to say about it:

In the comments section to this piece, Elisabeth’s lead lawyer, Michael Rami, takes note of the Terrorism Prevention Law and some of the government’s desired additions, whose effect, as he points out will allow the state to force its citizens to adopt certain, extremely vague “values.” At that point, as he notes, 1984 is not far away.

His translation of the new piece from Dr. Unterberger’s website:

Now the Pope in the Dock, Yet!
by Andreas Unterberger
November 23, 2010

The next thing for the out-of-control prosecutor’s office will no doubt be to put the Pope in the dock! You have to come to this conclusion when you compare the questions an Austrian citizen in court had to answer, to that which the Pope says in a book of interviews presented at the same time in Rome to a worldwide uproar.

But apparently the prosecutors are waiting for the usual charge to be made by the “News”, which is kept afloat by ads from innumerable SPÖ politicians. As they did with now-defendant Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff. The trial was adjourned.

At any rate, Sabaditsch had to justify herself against the charge of identifying Islam itself as the problem and not, as is apparently the opinion of the politically ubercorrect lady judge, merely a few, isolated Islamists. This question, testifying to boundless cluelessness, was asked at almost the same hour as the presentation of the Pope’s new book, in which Benedict XVI dares to say: “It became obvious that Islam must clarify two questions: namely, its relationship to violence and to reason.”

So it is “Islam”, not just a couple of anarchists. Thousands of times, and quite rightly, it has been charged against Islam as a whole that a series of justifications of violence against non-Mulsims can be found in the Koran, and that the majority of scholars of Islam abjure reason-oriented interpretation of Koranic text.

Fortunately, the “News” and the red leaders of the Viennese prosecutor’s office will no doubt protect us from the Pope being allowed to say such a thing again without being punished. They should at least confiscate his book, since otherwise it will, with Thilo Sarrazin’s book, become by far the the biggest seller of the year, all efforts of the leftist media to the contrary notwithstanding.

Speaking of the prosecutor’s office. Prosecutor Hans-Peter Kronawetter had to admit during the proceedings that he only “heard excerpts” of the audio recording of the incriminating lecture by Sabaditsch-Wolff. Not to be believed. A highly paid exponent of the justice system is threatening someone with three years in prison and does not even take the trouble to listen to the entire, allegedly incriminating audio tape.

For those who have forgotten. This is the same Mr. Kronawetter who unconstitutionally accepted criminal investigations concerning a (naturally non-leftist) parliamentary representative, without bothering about parliamentary immunity. And of course without repealing it later.

The really easy question for the home audience: What would happen in any independent private business if a co-worker constantly bumbled like this? But in the Viennese prosecutor’s office, nothing is done to him, because he is only engaged in a fight against the political right. And recently, as is well-known, that makes the rule of law inoperative.

P.S. On the same day, yet a third shocking report to read: a Pakistani Christian woman barely escaped an execution, to which she had been sentenced and has now been freed by an “act of clemency” on the part of the president. She was sentenced because she had replied to Muslim women who were trying to convert her: “Jesus lives, but Mohammed is dead.” Because of something like this, a person in an Islamic country is condemned to death on the grounds of Islam. And in Vienna, they have to justify themselves with an accusation from the “News,” because Islam as a whole is criticized here.

Blasphemy charge against 15 year old girl in Britainistan

Girl, 15, arrested over 'Facebook Koran burning video'

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of inciting religious hatred after allegedly burning an English language version of the Koran.

The 15-year-old, who lives in the West Midlands, allegedly posted the video, filmed two weeks ago on her school premises, on Facebook.

The video was reported to the school and subsequently removed, police said.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of making threats. Both have been released on police bail.

It is thought the girl, who lives in the Sandwell Council area, was allegedly filmed setting the booklet alight while other pupils watched.

Two Facebook profiles have also been removed from the site, police added.

It is understood that the group who published that version of the Koran have since been to the school to talk to pupils.
'Sacred thing'

Catherine Heseltine, chief executive officer of the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, said burning the Koran was one of the most offensive acts to Muslims that she could imagine.

She said: "The Koran is the most sacred thing to over a billion Muslims worldwide."

"You can see that in the way Muslims treat the Koran, washing before touching it and in many Muslim homes you will find it on the top shelf above all other books and we will never destroy the Koranic texts."

"We believe it is the word of God. God's guidance for us in this life," she added.

Bob Badham, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council cabinet member for education, said he had visited the school and believed the atmosphere was generally good among pupils.

He added that he did not believe there was a "deeper problem" in the area.

Efforts to nullify the rule of law go hand in hand with the assault on freedom of speech. Both are consequences of the European liberal/left establishment way of thinking and way of doing things. The article 'Making the rule of law inoperative' deals with Austria in particular but the same pattern of behaviour is repeating itself throughout the 'White world'.

The question is why is it happening? Why is the liberal/left establishment abandoning what it still insists are its dearest principles – the rule of law and freedom of speech are fundamental to its beloved equality, aren’t they?

Some argue that the liberal/left is motivated by a deep seated hatred of Western culture and that its every action is designed to bring about the demise of that culture. I'm not so sure. No doubt a minority is so motivated, but I suspect that for the majority self interest is the primary motivating factor.

The equality idea was merely a technique that the liberal/left employed in its quest for power. It’s the power that’s important, not the equality. And the protective attitude that the establishment adopts in relation to Islam and Muslims is less about protecting Muslims than it is about protecting the system that the establishment inhabits. The liberal/left is terrified of the train of thought that leads from the impact of Islam on our living space to the logic of mass immigration and the multicultural/multiracial society.
Thus criticism of Islam and Muslim behaviour is made illegal in order to head off criticism of multiculturalism.

Thank goodness for Muslims! Their behaviour makes so much noise it’s impossible not to notice – even if it’s illegal to notice it.

They have no choice but to defend Islam and Muslims...the alternative is their entire house of PC, Multicultural, Diversity, Moral and Cultural Relativism, cards collapsing...which underpins the Leftist zeitgeist and political power structure.

Excellent post!Well said Sulber Nick!These lefty useful idiots are not too good on history though: their ilk were totally crushed after they helped Ayatollah Khomeini gain control of Iran! Heh!

The good news is that they're defending a wall of sand with water.
All of these things have no authority any more. They ring completely hollow in light of the truth-- that cultures are diverse, and that they can be in conflict.
These conflicts have profound political, legal and social ramifications.
It is the conflicts that must be confronted, defined and dealt with such that Western Civilization may survive.

sulber nick: Thus criticism of Islam and Muslim behaviour is made illegal in order to head off criticism of multiculturalism.

A febrile attempt to preserve ideological capital cannot fully explain Liberalism's depravity. Liberals continue clinging to their sinking Multiculturalist ship despite the fact that it will suck them down like a pony keg at a frat house party.

Considering the relatively high education level that many of these "progressive" types have, their glaring inability to appreciate history becomes rather striking. The "do you want fries with that" syndrome of Liberal Arts degrees probably plays some part in the persistent allergy to logic exhibited by those on the Left.

Unsullied by the ravages of rationality, there emerges a concomitant self-declared immunity to the Law of Unintended Consequences™. Of course, no such thing exists and Liberals are hoist by their own petard with such dazzling repetition that precision chronometers can be set by this now predictable cycle.

This immunity to consequences can only be explained by one thing; Magical Thinking. Anyone who has not yet read the linked article is urged to do so as it explains much of the foregoing lunacy.

Here is a ten point bullet list of Modern Leftism's key neuroses: (from the article)

1.Childish;
2.Wishfully-thinking;
3.Anti-scientific;
4.Sentimental;
5.Neo-Pagan;
6.Narcissistic;
7.Anti-Christian & uses karmic ethics;
8.Antinomian (lawless);
9.Emotivist (feeling oriented);
10.Nihilistic (extreme doubt of a rational world).

Folded into the foregoing laundry list of modern psychological afflictions is the self-loathing of KGB inculcated Cultural Marxism. While analyzing the homicidal rampages of Aurther Dinsdale, a criminologist (played by Monty Python's Graham Chapman) notes how; "a murderer is only an extroverted suicide".

Modern Liberals have similarly extroverted their self-loathing and decided that what's best for the entire Western Judeo-Christian civilized world is to expunge itself in an orgy of apologetic demographic suicide-by-Islam.

Rest assured that these selfsame Liberal wankers, brimful with delusions of bigoted adequacy, see themselve as poised in the wings and − with The System™ about to be well and truly crashed − merely waiting their cue to rush onstage and seize the reins of power from their grateful but hopelessly disorganized Muslim cohort.

That Islam has an entirely different and rather violent end in mind for these supremely useful idiots has never for a moment disturbed their dystopian reverie.

Again, anxious conservation of Liberalism's Multicultural capital cannot explain in full the magnitude of this ongoing treachery. It's a damn good start but there are less obvious subtexts − as submerged as any iceberg − that drive this insanity with an intertia that is proving exceptionally difficult to overcome.

In hoc signo vinces

The destabilization and subversion of Western Civilization transcends the political spectrum and has sunk deep into the psyche of a large percentage of the population whatever they may claim as their political ideals, labels and terminology such as left and right are almost redundant, convoluted to the point of being meaningless.

The old political spectrum may be burning out, superseded by the foreboding twilight of neoliberalism igniting a clash within Western Civilization.

This woman has lost her marbles a 15 year old girl gets arrested for burning a book that was most likely her own property, it is none of her business. What does this girl know of politics anyway. I was certainly not politicized at 15. Trying to hang her out to dry to satisfy her political ends is the most despicable piece of political opportunism I have ever come across, and who know what might have happened too this girl that caused her to do it anyway. What now a political show trial to humiliate her and show too us Dhimmis what will happen if we do not toe the line. They must be getting desperate when they have to use 15 year old school girls as an example. I wonder if it is because they cannot get a conviction against Wilders or the BNP and are getting desperate. God I detest these brain dead buffoons.

Michael Servetus said...

What if the entire BNP party and others unite and burn korans in solidarity with all freedom lovers; that would move ball forward to some sort of needed collision and bring about something that people need to see, like valor.

What about saying, this act of burning a Koran is not incitement to hatred but incitement to courage and national pride.

Michael Servetus said...

I know that my suggestions may be the last thing the BNP needs, that would just confirm erroneous opinions. What I meant was just a large organized group of British who would be too numerous to control or intimidate, who love their country and heritage enough to do it.

I like to call the liberal/left wanna be Nobles and Royals in a neo-feudal society, they intend for the rest of us to be the serfs and peasants.

And the idea of have several hundred people get together and all burn a Koran has some merit, I don't know what the British police would do but I suspect it would be something stupid.
