French Reparations for Colonialism in Algeria?

The idea of reparations to African-Americans has been floating around here in the USA for twenty years or so, but now the European version is building up steam. The Italians have already promised to pay, and it looks like France will be next. The Muslim countries of North Africa have figured out yet another way to extort the jizyah from the kuffar.

Fjordman sent us the link to this article, and included this comment:

I wonder whether Muslims will pay reparations for a thousand years of slavery raids in Europe by Arabs, and centuries of brutal colonial oppression by Turks in the Balkans? No? Why not?

And here’s the article from AKI:

Algeria: France urged to make amends for the colonial era

France must make reparations for its bloody colonial past in Algeria as Italy has now done with Libya, Algerian politicians and intellectuals argued on Monday.

The calls followed the signing on Saturday between Italy and Libya of a 5 billion dollar investment agreement to resolve colonial-era disputes.

The 25-year deal includes the construction of a highway running between Egypt and Tunisia and the return to Libya of an prized ancient marble statue taken to Rome in colonial times.

The settlement was a “complete and moral acknowledgement of the damage inflicted on Libya by Italy during the colonial period,” said Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

“Italy committed historic errors in Libya, and the Italian government’s move to apologise is positive,” secretary of Algeria’s National Liberation Front (FLN) party, Al-Said Abu Haja, told Algerian daily El-Khabar.

The FLN led the war of independence from France between 1954 and 1962.

“We hope that the European Union will be able to put pressure on other former colonial powers such as France and get it to make amends for what it did in Algeria,” Haja added.

“Algeria asked for France to apologise long before Libya [asked Italy]. The French occupied us for 130 years.”

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi (photo) has offered Italy several incentives under the bilateral accord reached with Berlusconi.

“Rome should have privileges in gas and oil projects since the country is a friend,” Gaddafi said.

He was speaking at a meeting of government supporters, parliamentarians and military officials held in Libya’s second largest city, Benghazi, to mark the 39th anniversary of the coup that brought him to power in September 1969.

Italy occupied Libya in 1911 and it became an Italian colony in the 1930s. The former Ottoman territory gained independence in 1951.

Berlusconi last saw Gaddafi in June when they discussed the implementation of a December 2007 accord on joint maritime patrols to stop the flow of illegal immigrants from Africa to Europe.

Do Algeria and Libya have to reimburse their former colonial oppressors for all the infrastructure and improvements their evil masters left behind when they departed? No?

Do Italy and France get to deduct all that lost capital from their reparations bill? No?

Everyone knows that Turkey and Saudi Arabia will never pay reparations to anybody for all the millions slaughtered, all the booty taken, all the slave-taking and rape and destruction of monuments. No one would ever think of demanding it.

Only white people can be guilty of colonial oppression. And only white people will be billed for it.

I think the massive amount of Algerians with French Passports and the damage they have done to France more then "evens the score". As if any were needed. The reparations gag is so stupid. If everyone were to pay far past wrongs money would be changing hands in every country, state, territory, village and neighborhood for an eternity and cause a global economic collapse.

Seems to me that the shoe is on the other foot.

Northern Africa, indeed most of the mohammedan block owes the West vast sums for what little modernity they have, not to mention the oil wells they nationalized.

The civilized world is too fragmented and hesitant to demand payment.

But imagine what would happen if the entire industrialized world were to join forces into a sort of oil-buyers union.

What with China and Russia in the mix (not to mention France) such an alliance couldn't hold.

But if it did, many of our problems would resolve themselves pretty quick.

Or at least that's what I think.

Don't expect anyone to send a bill to the (white) Russians expecting to get 'compensation'. It is only in the Americanised democracies where there is such weakness and self-hatred.

I'm guesssing this all began with Holocaust guilt and it has just spread from there. First it was what 'we' did to the Jews, then the blacks, then the Arabs and so on...

Even the European populations of countries that fought against Hitler are made to feel guilt so now even countries like Fjordman's Norway that did not have colonial empires are made to feel guilty for what 'Europeans' have done.

We the white people of the West are the targets of a campaign for which there will be no satisfying until we cease to exist. Absent any intra-European racial consciousness, or at least sense of solidarity we are going to have to become more nationalistic if we are to survive this difficult period. We need a Putin not a Sarkozy or McCain. Democracy in the West is now so rigged by the cultural Marxists and deracinated corporate capitalists who are on the same side it may take a collapse of some kind - economic meltdown or major war - for the power structure of the West to be replaced by something more adaptive to our needs.

I could speak miles about it but all the third worlders on earth are not worth it.

Yes, we need a Putin. And fast.

There is no such thing as a "historical error". Unless this Algerian gentleman would be oh so kind as to tell us what should have happened historically.

This seems like a common practice these days. What does one do when your nation and people are retarded by some sandbox religion? Why you guilt the West into propping up your GDP.

Black Americans are generally more Christian than whites and their spokesmen are demanding reparations for slavery. This particular issue is not about Islam. It is about non-whites seizing on white guilt and using it to their advantage. They see weakness: hence, opportunity.

I'm so goddamn sick and tired of seeing every single Western leader licking the boots of the nearest Muslim thug on demand. They're a loathsome bunch of dhimmi collaborators. We're the most pathetic joke of the planet. Everybody can just walk up to our so-called leaders and say "booh!" or "racism!" and expect to get some money instantly. The American ones are hardly much better, but the European leaders are the lowest of the low. And the EU was supposed to "turn Europe into a superpower." Yeah, right. They only thing it has given us is more rapes and street crime, and a corrupt traitor class who stab their own people in the back every chance they get, humiliate us and our heritage in front of others and give money to our worst enemies.

White, Western leaders are the dancing clowns of the world.

France's 130-year colonialization of Algeria was itself a reparation -- for several centuries of Muslim piracy, murder and plunder in the Mediterranean Sea. As to American blacks' demands for reparations (expressed by the banner in Democratic National Convention CEO Rev. Leah Daughtry's church that reads, "They Owe Us"), the loss of hundreds of thousands of Union soldiers (including my great-great-grandfather), the ruin of many American inner cities, and a culture suffused by rampant criminality, gross irresponsibility and endemic hostility has left them without any moral foundation whatever. We owe them NOTHING.

Berlusconi made a very good deal.

Can we expect Spain to demand reparations for centuries of Islamic occupation? What about Greece? Or India? Or (insert name of country ruthlessly oppressed by Islam).

Europe is doomed. And we in the US too if our leaders don't grow a pair.

I don't feel one bit guilt towards the mohammedans. They can go screw themselves.
