Swedish Sex-Fixation Awards

Fjordman drew my attention to this article in Dagbladet and recommended its translation for Gates of Vienna. Here’s what he had to say about it:

The Swedish version of the “Emmy” awards this year was openly and obscenely sexual even by Scandinavian standards.

So we have a country that is committing demographic and cultural suicide and whose children are beaten up, raped and killed in the streets, yet there is absolutely zero debate about mass immigration. Those who try will get silenced by the media, legally prosecuted by the authorities, harassed by Expo and similar organizations and perhaps beaten up by the “anti-Fascists” and “anti-capitalists” of AFA.

Meanwhile, sex is everywhere. Sex and only sex is liberty. The less liberty you have in the political or economic sphere, the more “sexual liberty” you have. The native culture is ridiculed, Christianity is demonized and Islam is shown great respect. If somebody set out to deliberately destroy their own culture, they couldn’t have done a better job.

The Observer kindly agreed to translate the Dagbladet article from the Norwegian:

Swedish Awards Show Fixated on Sex

While TV2 presenter Dorthe Skappel’s wardrobe has become increasingly more daring and spectacular over the years in order to attract more viewers to watch the annual Norwegian TV awards “Gullrute” (the golden window), the Swedes have realized that sex is what the viewers want.

Their version of the American Emmy awards, ‘Kristallen’, which was aired last Monday, was so fixated on sex that it has been making the headlines in Swedish tabloids newspapers for several days in a row now. TV viewers have, however, labeled the show a disgrace.

The TV awards, which were seen by more than 800,000 viewers, according to Swedish TV station TV5, included an acceptance speech that primarily focused on the female reproductive organ,

It may take awhile before the next opportunity arises

“I wish to thank my c**t, because without it, there simply wouldn’t be a TV drama,” Tova Magnusson Norling said. She is the producer who received the award for the best TV drama of the year, ‘The gynaecologist from Askim’.

The TV drama is about Henning, a doctor who through his profession as a gynaecologist in a wealthy suburb in Gothenburg discovers many of the intimate secrets of the inhabitants in the area. The TV drama was shown on the Norwegian TV channel, NRK, in April.

“I just thought that I had to include my c**t in my acceptance speech. It may be a while before I get the opportunity to accept another award,” Norling told Swedish newspaper Expressen after the show.

Fondled the statuette

Prior to Norling’s acceptance speech, the comedy duo ‘Mia and Klara’, received an award for their comedy show on SVT (Swedish Broadcasting Corporation). Duo member Mia Skäringer, took advantage of the opportunity and decided to fondle the statuette, a slender monolith statuette.

“I really feel like getting a firm grip on this delicious thing,” she said, fondling the statuette with a grin on her face.

Add to the equation the fact that stand-up comedian, Andre Wickström, appeared in several skits during the course of the show that primarily focused on sex, and that comedian Hanna Wilenius interviewed people in the audience using a microphone shaped like a dildo, the overall impression that most people were left with was that this was a TV show totally fixated on sex.

Expressen readers reacted with disgust

“Everything doesn’t necessarily have to be about sex. There are lot of other topics to make fun of. But the comedians are obviously of a different opinion,” one reader wrote on the newspaper’s internet discussion forum.

Understands the anger

The spokesperson for TV5, Dan Panas, told Dagbladet.no that he understands the reaction from the viewers.

“We were only responsible for some of the TV skits, and some of these focused on sex. The impression of a sex-obsessed TV awards show, were only achieved after several of the acceptance speeches started to push it in that direction,” Panas said.

“We have no control over what people choose to include in their acceptance speeches. Next year the awards will be produced by SVT, and I don’t know how they will deal with this, but personally I’m of the opinion that it is wrong to censor speeches.”

“The reason why we have these speeches is to show some of the emotions that the recipients experience when they enter the stage. Sometimes it’s quite spectacular and touching, other times it’s just flat and stale, Panas said.

Fjordman wrote an essay about Sweden last year that is relevant to this topic:

Sweden: Sharia-Supporters and Transvestites of the World Unite!

British historian Roland Huntford wrote a book in the early 1970s about Sweden called The New Totalitarians. Huntford notes how equality between the sexes was aggressively promoted from the late 1960s and early 1970s. This was closely linked to a campaign for sexual liberation:

“Indeed, the word ‘freedom’ in Swedish has come to mean almost exclusively sexual freedom, product perhaps of an unadmitted realization that it is absent, or unwanted, elsewhere. Through sex instruction at school for the young, and incessant propaganda in the mass media for the older generations, most of Sweden has been taught to believe that freedom has been achieved through sex. Because he is sexually emancipated, the Swede believes that he is a free man, and judges liberty entirely in sexual terms.…The Swedish government has taken what it is pleased to call ‘the sexual revolution’ under its wing. Children are impressed at school that sexual emancipation is their birthright, and this is done in such a way as to suggest that the State is offering them their liberty from old-fashioned restrictions.”

By old-fashioned restrictions, read Christianity and Christian morality. Huntford notes that this came together with efforts to downplay or attack Western culture prior to the French Revolution. According to Mr. Olof Palme, who was Swedish Socialist Prime Minister until 1986: “The Renaissance So-called? Western culture? What does it mean to us?”

“The State,” in the words of Ingvar Carlsson, then Minister of Education, “is concerned with morality from a desire to change society.” Mr. Carlsson, who was Swedish Prime Minister as late as 1996, has also stated that “School is the spearhead of Socialism” and that it “teaches people to respect the consensus, and not to sabotage it.”

“We have no ethical standards in education, and no rules for sexual behaviour,” in the words of Dr Gösta Rodhe, the then head of the department of sexual education in the Directorate of Schools, and thus in some ways the executive officer of government sexual policy. “You see, since there’s a lack of tension in Swedish politics, younger people have got to find release and excitement in sexual tension instead.”

This was in the early 1970s. Things have gotten worse in the two generations since then. Socialists and state authorities present this policy as liberation of women and sexual liberation. What it is actually about is breaking down rival sources of power: The traditional Judeo-Christian culture and the nuclear family. This leaves the state more powerful, since it can regulate all aspects of life and, most importantly, can indoctrinate the nation’s children as it sees fit, without undue parental influence. The state replaces your entire nuclear and extended family, raises your children and cares for your elderly.

To update Marx, it seems that sex, not religion is now "the opiate of the masses".

Note that in Islam, the two opiates are combined - it is a religion that represses sex fiercely on earth but induces its male followers boiling with androgen to commit rapes against non-Muslim women and "impure" Muslim women as well as unspeakable crimes against humanity on the promise of an express lane to bordello-heaven with a near inexhaustible supply of virgins.

Journalist Roland Huntford wrote piercingly about this in his 1974 book The New Totalitarians.
