There was another gun scare on the Virginia Tech campus this morning, awakening bad memories of the mass shooting in 2007. This time the alarm was raised by three teenagers who were attending a camp at the school. They said they saw a man near the dining hall carrying what appeared to be a handgun wrapped in a cloth. The campus was locked down while authorities searched for the man. He was never found, and the alert was finally ended late this afternoon.
In other news, as investors began to doubt that any real recovery is underway, stock markets all over the world slumped significantly, wiping out all gains made in 2011 and entering an official “correction”. Values dropped over 3% in the U.S. markets.
Meanwhile, a family of Muslim albinos in Britain is being terrorized by death threats because a female family member married a non-Muslim and practices Christianity.
