Union Rules

This joke just came in over the transom here at Gates of Vienna Enterprises:

A dedicated Teamsters Union worker was attending a convention in Las Vegas and decided to check out the legal brothels in Nevada .

When he got to the first one, he asked the Madame, “Is this a union house?”

“No,” she replied, “I’m sorry, but it isn’t.”

“Well, if I pay you $100, what do the girls get?”

“The house gets $80 and the girls get $20,” she answered.

Offended at such unfair dealings, the union man stomped off down the street in search of a more equitable, hopefully unionized shop. His search continued until finally he reached a brothel where the Madame responded, “Why yes sir, this is a union house. We observe all union rules.”

The man asked, “And, if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?”

“The girls get $80 and the house gets $20,” she replied.

“That’s more like it!” the union man said. He handed the Madame $100, looked around the room, and pointed to a stunningly attractive green-eyed blonde.

“I’d like her,” he said.

“I’m sure you would, sir,” said the Madam, “but…”

She gestured to a 72-year old woman in the corner.

“…Ethel here has 50 years seniority, and according to union rules, she’s next.”

A while ago a free newspaper did a story about a unionized brothel, titled "Look for the Union Labia."

This is a very old Soviet anecdote.
Tenacious Soviet humor)))

In hoc signo vinces

There is a debate in the U.K. over company directors remuneration and compensation which is set by committees made up of company directors - ultra hermetically sealed collective bargaining.

How then can company directors point the finger of socialism at employees collective bargaining when they are guilty of the same political practice which is anti competitive behaviour and nothing more than the champagne socialism of a closed shop.
