Six British SAS commandos from MI6 were airlifted into Libya near Benghazi in an attempt to establish diplomatic relations with the rebel groups opposing Col. Moammar Gadhafi. But it didn’t work out the way they planned: they were captured and held by the rebels, who refused to deal with them.

Meanwhile, the French government insists that any North African refugees that land in Italy must remain in Italy and not be allowed to enter France. The French also insist that Italy allow the repatriation of any refugees who do manage to cross the border into France.

In other news, a Serb general in the Bosnian Muslim army has been arrested for war crimes allegedly committed during the civil war in Bosnia in the mid-1990s.
