A Common Word with Uncommon Firearms

Papa Whiskey just sent us this brief note with yet more evidence of the Demonic Convergence of the goals of Islam with those of the American Left:

In a Dec. 9 appearance at Claremont McKenna college, Zaid Shakir, a prominent Muslim spokesman, declared that:

“… if we are serious as a society about stopping this violence, it doesn’t behoove us to demonize Muslims. … it behooves us to make it far, far, far more difficult for people to get their hands on a gun.”

Be it noted that Zaid Shakir is a black American convert whose original name was Ricky Mitchell. He studied for several years in Egypt, Syria and Morocco. He is a signatory to the “Common Word Between Us and You” document, which, as the Barnabas Fund points out, is “a classical example of Islamic da’wa (mission). It is a call to accept the Muslim concept of the unity of God (tawhid) and therefore to reject the incompatible Christian views of the Trinity and the deity of Christ.” (This, in accordance with Qur’an 3:64.)

His proposal that it be made “far, far, far more difficult for people to get their hands on a gun” is an effort to impose upon Americans the disarmament clause of the Pact of Umar, under which the subjugated Christians of Syria agreed (on pain of slaughter) that, inter alia:

“We shall not mount on saddles, nor shall we gird swords nor bear any kind of arms nor carry them on our persons.”

It should in fact be made “far, far more difficult” for people such as Mitchell/Shakir to practice a religion that infringes on the rights of free men.

Perhaps Zaid Shakir should consider addressing the most influential domestic groups with respect to limiting American gun ownership.

A few appearances by him preaching his vision of unilateral disarmament to gatherings of NRA members would probably produce some truly interesting results. Most likely manifesting as several prolonged sessions of rather intensive parking lot therapy.

Keeping in mind the fact that Muslims practically invented Gun Sex™, it is more than amusing to hear one of Islam's followers talk about restricting the ownership of firearms.

My own suggestion − in the grand tradition of "after you" − is that Mr. Shakir go amongst his Afghani Taliban brethern and attempt to wrest their guns from them first. The ensuing mayhem would more than likely make any response by the NRA's members appear rather subdued by comparison.

Oh yes - fertile ground on the American Left for the command and control of Islam.

Baron, many thanks for the post. For a disquisition on what possession of arms and the lack thereof can mean to peoples facing the onslaught of Islam (here, the Armenians of a century ago), see this and this.

The deathless vow of the late great Jeff Cooper in his stinging 1972 rejoinder to then New York Police Commissioner Patrick Murphy’s call for the disarmament of Americans is apropos here:

The man who attempts, plans, or even wishes to disarm me must be regarded as my mortal enemy. ... I, for one, will not be disarmed. Not while I live. Mark that well.

Nota bene, Zaid Shakir, and all your co-religionists and leftist lickspittles as well.

To be honest, the only reason why I would move to the US right now is being able to own a gun. I was teasing a friend I have there that if we marry, he will have to buy two HK417, a Benelli M4, a Beretta Px4 and a Desert Eagle(just for fun lol). This combined with his CZ75. I can be quite psycho, I guess. :(

This is one reason why I'm so optimistic these days. The Supreme Court has pretty much annihilated the gun control movement, and even before the Heller decision in 2008, more and more states were allowing concealed carry. GUN CONTROL IS DEAD. Therefore, the street-level riots like in the EU will NEVER happen here (at least even close to that scale). Also the First Amendment has just been reaffirmed. God I love this Supreme Court.

I have had to listen for decades to the Left here in the US whining about how we must all be disarmed and rendered helpless (for our own good, of course) and now we hear this Muslim THUG... uh, I mean "Cultural Enricher"... saying exactly the same thing as the Marxist scum that infests our government, news media and academia. Is there a lesson here for you, folks?!

If you are still unarmed (in other words, if you are a HELPLESS SHEEP fit only for the shearing or the slaughter) then you'd better GET ARMED right quick.

I would not be so optimistic, Man-with-the silver-gun. Both of these Supreme Court decisions were decided 5 to 4. That is, in our favor by only ONE VOTE. Note that these decisions involve the first two Amendments of the Bill of Rights!
Gaddamnit! It shouldn't be that close! All of the Supreme Court justices swore an oath to uphold the constitution. In fact, the votes in both cases should have been 9 to 0 in favor of the Bill of Rights.
Further, the Heller decision was very narrowly worded, and the THUGS and CROOKS that run Washington, D.C. are already doing everything in their power to prevent law-abiding people from obtaining guns for self defense. Among other TRICKS, there is a list of guns that are "approved" for sale. This list specifies, among other things, the COLOR of the guns that are "approved." That's right, guns that are not of the right color will not be available for sale! There is no limit to the treachery of these people.
Just wait until there are more vacancies on the Supreme Court and the Court gets packed with more Marxist traitors by Obama.

Our rights hang by a thread.

One of the last few Patriots
is dead on. Our beloved gun rights are hanging by a mere thread. Narrow decisions at the Supreme Court are slight cause for celebration and grave cause for concern and increased vigilance and support of those who will fight to let us keep our 2cd Amendment rights. Obama will fill any vacancies with leftist judges who legislate from the bench rather than from our Constituion.

I personally invite Zaid Shakir to come over and try to take my weapons and ammunition.

Rebelliousvanilla,if you should come to the US, remember that not all of the fifty states are really America anymore.
Washington, D.C. is a third world dungheap, California ("Mexifornia") is an even bigger third world dungheap, and my own home state, Massachusetts, has been under defacto Communist rule for decades. Choose carefully.

When I was in Poland way back in 1991 (God, how time flies) we visited Lancut castle near the city of Rzeszow. I was amused to see, in one of the residential areas of the castle, a glass paneled gun cabinet. It seems that ownership of weapons was ubiquitous among the Polish nobility of the 1600's. From what my mother and father told me about pre-war Poland, I infer that many people owned guns then, too.
Sad to say, the Communists seem to have destroyed that, too, like everything else they touched. I asked around in '91 and was told that only a few hunting weapons were allowed.

On a lighter note, rebelliousvanilla, that is an interesting "wish list" you have there. LOL ;)
