“We Need You to Lead Our Politics”

That’s what Simon Hughes, the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for North Southwark and Bermondsey, said to British Muslims gathered for the Global Peace and Unity Event on October 25th, 2008.

He also said, “Every country of the world is your country.”

And he said much, much more than that. Here’s the video:

Mr. Hughes is gay, and homosexuality was an issue when he was first elected to Parliament. Funnily enough, it wasn’t his own sexual orientation that caused controversy, but that of his opponent. From the wiki on him:
- - - - - - - - -
The by-election was described by Gay News as “the dirtiest and most notorious by-election in British political history” because of the slurs against the character of the Labour candidate and gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell by various opposition campaigners. The Liberal Campaign leaflet described the election as a “straight choice”, a standard campaigning slogan which was open to misinterpretation. Hughes won the seat with 57.7% of the vote. He apologised for the campaign in 2006, during the same few days revealing his own homosexual experiences, and confirming that he is bisexual after being outed by The Sun newspaper

And this is the man who is now pandering so shamelessly to the local British representatives of the Ummah…

You’ll notice that Mr. Hughes opens his address with “salaam aleikum”, the standard Muslim-to-Muslim greeting. He then quotes from Sura 45 and other parts of the Koran. The Hon. MP may want to meditate on another part of Sura 45, namely verses 7-11:

Woe to each sinful dealer in Falsehoods:

He hears the Signs of Allah rehearsed to him, yet is obstinate and lofty, as if he had not heard them: then announce to him a Penalty Grievous!

And when he learns something of Our Signs, he takes them in jest: for such there will be a humiliating Penalty.

In front of them is Hell: and of no profit to them is anything they may have earned, nor any protectors they may have taken to themselves besides Allah: for them is a tremendous Penalty.

This is (true) Guidance and for those who reject the Signs of their Lord, is a grievous Penalty of abomination.

Mr. Hughes looks ahead with great anticipation to the election of Barack Hussein Obama. It’s obvious that both he and his enthusiastic audience consider Obama to be a Muslim, and that his election will constitute a great sea change in which America reverses position and embraces the Muslim world.

But his wrap-up is the most chilling part of his speech: borders must be abolished, all nations become one, and his Muslim “brothers and sisters” step forward to take their rightful place as leaders of this new transnational entity.

Now, remember: this man was lawfully elected to his office by the voters. Judging by the location of his constituency — just south of the Thames — its voters must be fairly culturally enriched.

But were “persons of British background” a minority among them?

Please tell me that citizens of good English stock were not the ones responsible for voting this man into Parliament.

Sure thing, Mr. Hughes, just so long as you understand that under Muslim leadership, gays like you will the first to have an albeit brief visit with Mister Chopping Block.

It is this sort of suicidal lunacy that tempts one to classify Liberalism as some type of mental disease or deficiency. There are few other explanations for why people seem to gladly welcome their own destrction.

Giving Muslims a role as "leaders of this new transnational entity" is like giving an arsonist a new cigarette lighter.

at marker 4:11 Hughes states:
"The United States must recognize that we are on this world together as equals and in all countries under God we must be equally respected. "

Me thinks he needs to define "equal" and "equally".

I've read said qur'an and it portrays non-believers as anything but equal by western standards.

and at 7:19
". . .there must be no different treatment of muslims from Christians and Jews and Hindus in this country because we are all equal before the law as well as before God. "

OK, then there is no use for shari'a courts or islamic banking. Everyone has access to the same facilities - be it financial or legal under British law. Equal is good enough.

At 7:47 he continues:

". . .but above all this, above all this, we need a society that is more equal . . ."

More equal? eh?

************

He continues @4:28:
"We must collaborate across this continent. "
"We" as in muslims?

". . .we must end the nationalism."

He entertains the idea of 'caliphate'?

T R A I T O R. This is treason.

I'd really like to know why Christianity is verbotten in public settings, but I-slam is being actively promoted here. Again, if people of his ilk are so disgusted with white Europe they can move to Somalia, Arabia, or Pakistan to embrace the loving acceptance of all cultures and faiths. These people make me sick.

Well he's got one thing right. He is an active "Collaborator" all right. He should well remember what happens to Quislings once the smoke clears.

Something I have been saying for years. The reason they chose such an irrational philosophy to begin with (and stick with it) begs the sanity question. The problem then lies in how does one deal with them? If we are dealing with a truly neurotic bunch, how can you convince them of the lunacy of their position? The man in this article (on a very surface level) appears to have an insane need to be liked. It seems we should all pay for his lack of popularity in high school.

worst thing i've ever heard from a british politician on the subject of islam. you can virtually see him licking his chops at the thought of a muslim prime minister. i hope he doesn't think this sort of crap will be forgotten when the brown stuff hits the fan.

note how easily british politicians start mentioning god every other sentence when kissing muslim behind. if they did that in any other context, they'd get laughed right out of there, but suddenly religion is in again as long as the religion in question is islam.

and hearing him say inshallah made me want to be sick.

Actually, your question is asked and answered. It is not a matter of sanity so much as rationality.

Any fool can build air castles out of magical thinking. It is something that Liberals do best. It is why their policies and legislation are so often beset by the Law of Unintended Consequences.

As an example: "The death penalty is inhumane". So, rather than risk deporting someone and having them be executed for their crimes, it is better to let scumbags like Abu Qatada reside in state supported splendor at the cost of MILLIONS per year. Somehow, this is far better than to risk having his "human rights" violated by deporting him to Jordan where he is wanted on felony charges of terrorism. Qatada continues to plot against the British people even as he and his entire brood suckle at the taxpayer's teat.

What will there be to say when this human cockroach succeeds in launching another terrorist attack on British soil that takes far more lives than just his own? Will the precious moral high ground have been worth it then?

Yup. When every last Jew and white person has been eliminated they will sit on their puffy white cloud in heaven (Pitchfork in Hell is more likely) and smuggly proclaim. "We took the moral high-ground and thus have we won".

My goodness! This man needs to be stopped....he is most definitely completely and utterly INSANE. This video beats everything.
I really hope that Mr. Churchill is not watching from above. Blessings be upon his poor soul. All the sacrifices just to leave the country over to 'men' like this. He is almost unreal!
What is going on in Britain these years?

If a politician in Denmark wanted to commit suicide (both politically and for real) then this would be the recipe.

This really worries me. How are we ever going to accomplish anything with all this crap coming out from THE most important country in Europe. UK is falling! And she doesn't even know. She is on a one way ticket to hell...

And on the other side of Oresund Sweden is going down. They too, haven't got a clue about what is happening. France is on fire, Germany is in the process of being renamed New Turkey, Spain is overrun by 'refugees' etc. etc.....that leaves little Denmark (in a state of civil war).... and Italy (shooting in all directions).

This is the British elite from both the left and the right, that has undermined and usurped the good people of the United Kingdom. The political elite are despicable and full of treachery

People like this are for me best described with a word that is not often used: demonic. At heart is the long running myth of a tolerant and benign Islamic hegemony first advanced by evil scum in the 19th century.

Bat' Yeor wrote:

The [demonic] myth of tolerant Islamic hegemony was started in Bosnia-Herzegovina in the 19th century. It alleges that Turkish rule over Christians in its European provinces was just and lawful. That the Ottoman regime, being Islamic, was naturally "tolerant" and well disposed toward its Christian subjects; that its justice was fair, and that safety for life and goods was guaranteed to Christians by Islamic laws. Ottoman rule was brandished as the most suitable regime to rule Christians of the Balkans.

This theory was advanced by European politicians [such as Disraeli, look up "Eastern Question"] in order to safeguard the balance of power in Europe, and in order to block the Russian advance towards the Mediterranean. To justify the maintenance of the Turkish yoke on the Slavs it was portrayed as a model for a multi-ethnical and multi-religious empire.

When reading the literature of the time, we see that the obstruction to Serbian, Greek and other Christian liberation movement was rooted in two main arguments:

1)     Christian Dhimmis are congenitally unfitted [nationalism is evil/all whites are racist] for independence and self-government. They should therefore remain under the Islamic rule.

2)     The Ottoman rule is a perfect model for a multi-religious and multi-ethnical society.

It is as I have said: "Secular Progressivism" is actually "virtual polytheism", a complete denial of reality (Isn't that what "post-modernism" is?), and a belief that the leaders and "progressive" ideas are like Achient Greek gods, and can do as they like without any consequences. The "virtual polytheists" (could be called PC MC Post-Marxists) are DEEPLY irrational, and the opposite of everything they claim to be. They have become what they hated. It is clear that Cultural Marxists were a religion that set out to change the power structure, and when they came to power in the West, the power structure changed them.
These people MUST be thrown from power, and their ideas throughly discredited, or the world will soon end as we've known it.

Would somebody write about why they think that a Eurabian Caliphate in the 21st Century is impossible? I certainly would like to study their arguments.

We had better make things happen,(get rid of the "progressive" governing class of elites' influence) or we will wonder what happened (to our countries).

I give you a quote from the wall of my 10th grade history class. As Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel noted:

"For the opposite of human is not the animal. The opposite of the human is the demonic.

Nowhere has our world been given better proof of this than by Islam.

Piloting fully loaded passenger jet airliners into occupied skyscrapers is the epitomy of "demonic".

The only thing positive from this speech is that more and more people will realise what a mess the present political establishment have made.

I have been saying for years - I can forgive Labour for the mess they have made in education, NHS, defence, infrastructure- you name it. What I can never forgive them for is that they have laid the foundation for the destruction of historic Britain - even unto the destruction of its soul.

Hughes "elite"? Do me a favour. He has always been an intellectual pigmy and a p***k to boot. He won't change. What he IS doing is trying to ensure his success at the next election. Jam today is much more seductive than thinking about being thrown from Big Ben when the Islamists gain power.

As someone said we in the UK are very far down the road but it is rarely reported for fear of "racism" or offence, or stepping on someone's "human rights". So Choudary, Abu Hamza and Qatada go about spreading their hate, on benefits, because we would offend the human rights of the latter 2 by sending them back. The first one unfortunately is home grown and led a debauched life in his youth - or so it is reported. He is a lawyer so perfectly capable of EARNING a living. The State chooses to fund his hateful sessions.

Last night on News Night (bbc.co.uk - iplayer) there was an item on polygamy. An Imam thought it wrong and that he hadn't been told when conducting purely religious marriage ceremonies. That is taqquiya was practiced! Either by his congregation or by himself.
Three Muslim men were interviewed. They agreed with polygamy and said that "society must change" to accommodate their views. Heh?

Elsewhere though the BBC, Radio 4 has been, for weeks, running Islam promoting programmes (or that is how I hear them). Softening up?

Hughes must be loving it.

bewick said...

an addendum

The Newsnight programme revealed that polygamy was on the increase in the UK Muslim population and particularly amongst the young. By contrast Polygamy is frowned upon in Pakistan. A bit like the "islamic" dress codes. Rare in many Muslim countries but increasing in the West. Wonder why? Will we see Hughes in baggy trousers and a dress.
I'll look for it next time he is on one of his (now thankfully rare) TV appearances.

Muslim women are wearing Islamic dresses as they are making a statement - a statement in our face, "We are here, and you can SOD off".

They want polygamy simply for the only reason they can keep flooding dar al-harb with even more muslims coming from their womens wombs. That's my take on it. I wonder what Solkhar has to say about it...

For Left-Libs, world government has always been the Utopia they dream of. What is new is that they envision Muslims as leaders of this new world government.
