The Fall of France and the Multicultural World War

The Fjordman Report
The noted blogger Fjordman is filing this report via Gates of Vienna.

In my essay about the retreat of the Western world order, I mentioned the possibility of civil strife in the West caused by runaway immigration. This is no longer just a theoretical possibility. It is pretty clear to anybody following the developments in Europe that the situation in France is starting to become rather serious. President Jacques Chirac threw out part of a youth labor law that triggered massive protests and strikes, bowing to intense pressure from students and unions. The unemployment rate for youths under 26 is a staggering 22 percent nationwide, but soars to nearly 50 percent in some of those troubled areas with many Muslim immigrants. French Jews are leaving the country in ever-growing numbers, fleeing a wave of anti-Semitism. Nidra Poller, American ex-pat writer and translator in Paris, has written some appalling stories about aggressive anti-Semitism, such as the murder and brutal torture of French Jew Ilan Halimi early in 2006.

Muslim blogs are calling for violence against the Jews, the whites and the well-to-do. They say, “We must burn France, as Hamas will burn Israel.” The growth of the Islamic population is explosive. According to some, one out of three babies born in France is now a Muslim. Around 70% of French prisoners are Muslims. Hundreds of Muslim ghettos are already de facto following sharia, not French law. Some have pointed out that the French military are not always squeamish, but there are estimates that 15% of the armed forces are already made up of Muslims, and rising. How effective can the army then be in upholding the French republic? At the same time, opinion polls show that the French are now officially the most anti-capitalist nation on earth. France has chosen Socialism and Islam. It will get both, and sink into a quagmire of its own making. Some believe France will quietly become a Muslim country, others believe in civil war in the near future:

The French Disease

Within 20 years, one person out of four in France will be Muslim, and almost certainly poor and angry. So the French disease progresses. It is chronic becoming terminal. On the way toward collapse, there will be no civil war, just moments of harsh violence. The population will change. People with a high level of productivity will choose exile. People with a low level of productivity will immigrate. Jews and Christians will leave. Muslims will arrive.

The unreported race riot in France

Fredric Encel, Professor of international relations at the prestigious École Nationale d’Administration in Paris and a man not known for crying wolf, recently stated that France is becoming a new Lebanon. The implication, far-fetched though it may seem, was that civil upheaval might be no more than a few years off, sparked by growing ethnic and religious polarization.

I’m not sure which of these scenarios is scarier. People keep talking about the nukes that the Iranians may get, but what about the hundreds of nuclear warheads the French have? Will they be used to intimidate the rest of the West? How do we handle an Islamic France, still the heartland of the European continent, with Muslim control of hundreds of nukes? And how do we handle a Bosnia or Lebanon with a population much larger than either of these countries, and with hundreds of nuclear warheads at stake?

If Muslim immigration continues, the impending fall of France could mark the starting point of the Balkanization of much of Europe, perhaps later even North America. I fear this is a world war. Maybe future historians will dub it the Multicultural World War. Just as WW1 was caused by Imperialism, WW2 by Fascism and the Cold War by Communism, this one will be caused by Multiculturalism. The term “the Multicultural World War” has been coined by Fjordman. I find this to be more accurate than “The Islamic World War” because what will cause this world war is Western cultural weakness, through Multiculturalism and Muslim immigration, rather than Islamic strength. As poster DP111 says, this world war may very well be in the form of a global civil war, where you get a succession of civil wars instead of countries invading other countries. Multiculturalism and uncontrolled mass-immigration destroy the internal cohesion of the decadent West, which will slowly fall apart as it has lost the will to defend itself and the belief in its own culture. The wars in the Balkans in the 1990s will in hindsight be seen as a prelude to the Multicultural World War. Rather than a Westernization of the Balkans, we get a Balkanization of the West.

I guess there is some poetic justice in the fact that the country that initiated and has led the creation of Eurabia now gets consumed by its own Frankenstein monster, but we should not gloat over this. The downfall of France is very bad news for the rest of the West. Again, what happens to their nukes and military resources? As stated in the book “Eurabia” by Bat Ye’or, the merger of Europe and the Arab-Islamic world has been encouraged by the French political elite in particular at least since the early 1970s, with a vision of creating a united Europe and Mediterranean basin under French leadership, in what has basically been a French dream since the age of Napoleon, the great hero of current French PM de Villepin. Several prominent French leaders stated quite openly in 2005 that the proposed EU Constitution was basically an enlarged France. Justice Minister Dominique Perben said: “We have finally obtained this ‘Europe à la française’ that we have awaited for so long. This constitutional treaty is an enlarged France. It is a Europe written in French.” Education Minister François Fillon stated: “This Constitution allows the French ambition to assert itself in the big Europe that General de Gaulle hoped and prayed for.” The French dream of an enlarged France. What they may get is a France carved into tiny pieces.

My personal belief is not that we are witnessing the final triumph of Eurabia, but rather the last spasms of the Eurabian Union. There will be at least as big changes in Western Europe over the coming generation as there were in Eastern Europe following the fall of the Berlin Wall. There will be the downfall and disintegration of an anti-democratic, bureaucratic superstate, the European Union instead of the Soviet Union, and there will be the downfall of “soft Socialism” in the shape of the Multicultural welfare state in the West just as you had the downfall of the “hard Socialism” in the East. The difference is that the downfall of Communism in the East happened through a relatively bloodless “Velvet Revolution,” whereas the downfall of Multiculturalism in the West may turn out to be anything but bloodless. And it will come, sooner than many people think. Multiculturalism, cultural Marxism and the idea of forced cultural equality, will collapse just as Communism, the idea of economic Marxism and forced economic equality fell.

The difference is that when Communism was discredited in Eastern Europe, it was still Poles who lived in Polish cities, Bulgarians who lived in Bulgarian cities etc. When the veil of Multiculturalism disappears, it will be Pakistanis who live in London, Turks who live in Berlin, Algerians who live in Paris and Moroccans who live in Amsterdam. And then the show begins.

Europe may not be finished yet, but she will go through a painful period of transition even if we do get a rebirth here. It should be noted that a revolution doesn’t usually come when the oppression is at its worst, but when the grip of the authorities and their totalitarian ideology, in this case Multiculturalism and Political Correctness, seems to be slipping. This was the case with the Soviet Union in the 1980s, and it will be the case with the European Union now. I see increasing signs that the idea of Multiculturalism is on the retreat. Even Germany’s and Europe’s largest newspaper ran a series about the collapse of Multiculturalism recently.

I am not alone in predicting such a turbulent scenario. Prominent critic of Islam in Denmark, Lars Hedegaard, is quoted in Bruce Bawer’s book “While Europe Slept, How Radical Islam is Destroying the West from Within” in support of this dark view:

“If there’s any hope,” Hedegaard suggested dryly, borrowing a line he knew I’d recognize from 1984, “it lies in the proles.” Yet we both knew that the “proles” – if they did take over the reins from the elite – might well lead Europe back down the road to fascism. He did admit that he was glad to be living in Denmark and not elsewhere in Western Europe: “If there’s any place where there’s hope, it’s got to be this country.” But Hedegaard didn’t hold out much hope even for Denmark. “Unless they build up a cadre of intellectuals in Europe who can think,” he said, America “can kiss Europe good-bye.” The Continent’s future, he predicted, “is going to be vastly different than we imagine.. It’s going to be war. Like Lebanon,” with some enclaves dominated by Christians and others by Muslims. There will be “permanent strife,” and no one will have the “power to mollify or mediate… It will be more gruesome than we can imagine.” When the horror comes, he warned, the journalists who helped to bring it about will “wag their heads and flee – and leave it to those who can’t flee to fight it out.”

The population movements we are witnessing now are the largest and fastest in human history. In Europe, they can only be compared to the period often referred to as the Migration Period, following the disintegration of the Roman Empire. However, during the 4th and 5th centuries, the total human population of the world was in the order of 200 million. Today, it is 30 times larger than that, and still growing fast. We also have communications that can transport people anywhere on earth within hours, and media that show ordinary people how much better life is in other countries. On top of that, the Romans didn’t have human rights lawyers advocating that millions of barbarians be let into their lands. Is it a coincidence that the last time we had migrations like this was when large parts of the European continent suffered a complete civilizational breakdown? Is that what we are witnessing now? The second fall of Rome?

Both Thailand and the Philippines, countries where the Muslim population is not much larger than it is in some Western European countries, are facing war. Countries such as France, Holland and Sweden could soon reach a point where the Muslim population will create something akin to civil war, as it already has in the above-mentioned nations. The Islamic world is now at war with most of the major powers on the planet at the same time, from the USA to India and from Russia to Western Europe. It is a real possibility that we will get a full-blown world war because of these events. If so, I don’t think this will happen 50 years from now, but within the coming generation.

There are several possible scenarios:

1. Eurabia

The EU continues its transformation into a continent-wide organization with clear totalitarian leanings, and a very pro-Islamic stance. Europe’s fate is sealed when Turkey is allowed into the Union, and becomes its largest member. Historian Bat Ye’or, who first coined the term “Eurabia”, thinks that Europe’s ties with the Arab-Islamic world are now so firmly entrenched and established that Eurabia is an irreversible fact. Europe will cease to be a Western, democratic continent, and will become an appendix to the Arab world. Eurabia will become a global center for Jihad activities, as the dhimmi taxpayers and infidel Western technology give a boost to the Ummah. Muslims will be heavily concentrated in the major cities, and the dhimmi native population will retreat into the countryside. The old nation states will thus slowly die, as their major cities, which constitute the brain and “head” of its culture, are cut off from the rest of the body. Europe’s decline into Eurabia will be speeded up by the fact that millions of educated natives with the means to it will move to the USA or other nations. There will be no major war in Western Europe, as its civilization is already dead and very few will bother fighting for it.

The only violence will be sporadic Islamic terror attacks to induce fear, and occasional Muslim mob assaults in European streets to remind the dhimmis who is boss. It is conceivable that the center of European civilization will move from Western Europe to Eastern Europe, but even Eastern Europe will be put under severe pressure from Muslims, both in the Middle East and in the West. The basic rule is that the areas Muslims have taken into possession remain in Islamic hands, while the native population and culture is slowly eradicated. If this holds true for us today, then parts of Western Europe are already lost, and will indeed become Eurabia as Bat Ye’or predicts. There are not too many instances I know of where areas once under the sway of Islam have been reclaimed by infidels. The most obvious is of course Spain and the Iberian Peninsula, where the Reconquista took quite a few centuries. I know the Sikhs have kicked Muslims out of Punjab, India. Parts of present-day Israel could be counted, although Arabs and Muslims are trying very hard to wipe Israel off the map. And maybe some of China’s Western provinces could be included. Islam has not been eradicated there, but it is visibly retreating as Chinese authorities are suppressing any signs of rebellion.

What these examples have in common is that both the Christians in Spain, the Sikhs in India and the Jews in Israel were fighting Islam with powerful religious convictions of their own. The Chinese are not usually very religious, but they have an equally strong, even ruthless nationalism and belief in their own civilization. If history is any guide, today’s decadent, bored, post-religious and post-nationalist Europe will be no match for Islam, unless it rediscovers a belief in its own culture and a will to defend it. This will have to happen soon, or the Islamic demographic conquest of much of the continent will be an irreversible fact, anyway. The result of this will then either be Eurabia or a Pakistanization of Europe, the way we have already seen for generations in the Balkans.

2. War

Personally, I think this alternative is at least as likely as the above “Eurabia” scenario. It also contains several sub-scenarios, partly depending upon when the eventual war starts, and partly on whether there is still some Western pride and resistance left in Europe underneath the self-loathing and Multiculturalism:

The Pakistanization of Europe

Muslims aren’t numerous enough to control the entire continent. In the event of war, there will be mutual ethnic cleansing and Muslims will seize parts of Western Europe. For instance, a belt stretching from parts of Germany via Belgium and Holland to France, but maybe even regions within certain nation states. All of Europe will not be lost, but some parts will, and many others will be deeply damaged by the fighting. Many of our cultural treasures will burn. How things will go from there is difficult to predict. Perhaps this new “Pakistan” in the heart of Europe will be the source of constant instability and the staging ground for Jihad incursions into infidel areas, just as Pakistan is to India now. Perhaps we will see a slow reconquest of this area, possibly taking generations or even centuries. Muslim de facto control of hundreds of French nuclear warheads will make the situation a lot more dangerous.

Of course, it could be more than one Muslim region. Kosovo and in part Bosnia are functioning as Islamic bridgeheads in Europe at this moment. There could be several mini-Pakistans created all over the place. In fact present day Kosovo walks, talks and looks like a mini-Pakistan. The “zones” in France sound suspiciously like Muslim “mohallas” in India although the situation is not as bad as in France.

Reconquista - The Second Expulsion of the Moors

Muslims strike too early, before they are ready to seize control over major chunks of Europe. They overestimate their own power, and underestimate the strength that is still left in Europe. It will start, as these things always do, before anyone is ready. Everyone, the Islamists, the proto-dhimmis, the neo-nationalists, the sleepwalking middle class, thinks they have more time than they do. It may start more or less by accident, like WWI, through the act of a fringe player unaware of the forces involved or the stakes of the game. Once a full-blown civil war starts in one country, it can, and probably will, spread to other countries. Given the European Union’s borderless nature, it is unlikely that war will be limited to one nation only. This will create a domino effect, and Muslims will be expelled from Europe yet again, after major bloodshed and millions of dead across the continent. This will result in the collapse of the EU. The Arab world will support the Muslims and will prolong the war, but they won’t win it.

Cultures collide: Muslim immigrants will be expelled from Europe unless they reverse the growing perception of them as a social threat

The Muslims refused to assimilate. They were expelled. This was the story in Europe 400 years ago. We are watching the sequel today. In the clash of cultures between secular Europeans and extremist Muslims, there can ultimately be no compatibility or compromise, only loss by one side or the other of the absolute values it holds dear. European capitulation on European soil, where they remain the dominant majority, is unlikely.

Global Civil War

Europe has been the primary staging ground for one cold and two hot world wars. It could become a major battlefield in an Islamic or Multicultural world war, too. A world war is already simmering, with Muslims clashes against Russia, Europe, Israel, China, India, the USA and Southeast Asia. Once the fighting starts in Europe, it could spread outside the continent and ignite a world war. This is the scenario of “global civil war”.

3. Western Rebirth in Europe

We should discuss the possibility of whether the Islamic threat will force the West to rethink its values and regain its strength. Can this be done, and how would this take place? Is it possible to avoid both major war and Eurabia or is this wishful thinking by now? The growth of Eurabia is closely tied to the growth of the EU. Perhaps we could derail Eurabia by dismantling the EU? This would require that Europe regain her old, cultural and religious dynamic and repel Islam. Just as Islam isn’t the cause of Europe’s current weakness, but rather a secondary infection, it could have the unforeseen and ironic effect of saving Europe from herself. By quite literally putting a dagger at Europe’s throat, the Islamic world will force Europeans to renew themselves or die. Europe will go through a turbulent period of painful, but necessary revival, and will arrive chastened on the other side.

To renew itself Europe would have to go back to birth rates of native european peoples that reflect/equal that of the arab/islamist peoples. The only way I can see that happening is if the social construct perception of womens role in society is changed. How many people do you know that have 3 plus children? It is kind of ironic that women's liberation potentially equals western societies demise. Children equal the future. Think about what it would take to reverse current trends.

bordergal said...

It's not only the perception of women's roles.

Child bearing is VERY difficult in those countries given the tax rates-how can one afford lots of children when 60% of your income goes to support less productive people's reproduction? That means a two income family by default, in order to keep you head above water.

Let people keep what they earn, and I think the child dynamic would change. No doubt there are other dynamics, but I think this one is significant.

Fjordman, it's few and far between, but it's good to read your analysis again. Although I would prefer otherwise, I can't help but believe that Europe at best will become at least Balkanized or, at worse, eventually Islamic. Regardless of the eventual outcome I can’t see any way around years of violence, death and destruction.

Cut the welfare to immigrants and channel the savings into cultural subsidies for children raised as natives.

This avoids issues of discrimination, stops subsidizing their own destruction and produces more what they need.

It may be we are doomed or maybe we will pull through. Things do seem bad now, but many people are noticing as indicated by rising nationalism or support for national parties, and the growth of hundreds of sites such as your own.
I prefer to believe we are nearing the bottom of the trough and once the political inertia is reversed we can reclaim our identity and continenet.

I only hope we don't get so sidetracked on Islam that we miss the bigger threat of internal decay and China.

Even with nukes, Islam is relatively powerless as an outside force and if the situation dictates the west won't hesitate to intern or expel internal Muslims (and apologize later), but there are other empires-in-waiting out there, the most zenophobic and "racist" of which is China.

China is not powerless, and although it lacks, today, the force projection capabilities of the west, it can engineer the collapse of the west through imperial over stretch right on its doorstep in Taiwan and the Koreas.

Brilliant! Combined with American Digest and others we are gaining ground in the war of minds.

I cannot believe that it is hopeless but I do understand that the horrors we will witness in the next 5 years will make WW2 seem like a walk in the park. Nuclear Weapons, Chemical and Bio Warfare have created the possibilities of entire populations being murdered. We must be on our guard.

In some ways the Islamic assault on Europe has happened in the nick of time to save us from ourselves. The current spiritual and cultural rot of liberalism, pc and multiculturalism would doom us to some other dismal fate even in the absence of Islamoids anyway. There is more than enough economic, military and intellectual power in Europe to rapidly and utterly crush the Islamoids here AND and all their countries - the question is whether there exists the will to do so.

So to my mind the Islamoids are themselves vital in the process of reviving Europe, as an antagonist. Sort of like applying electric shocks to restart the heart. Of course, that won't make the process any more pleasant.

The scenario that really bothers me is this : would the US/UN intervene in France (a la Serbia) in order to uphold "human rights" if the indigines French reassert their nationhood?

bordergal said...

Peter,

This is a very convincing article to the contrary, based on demographics, ideology, and past/present behavior by the Islamists.

What makes you so sure that that Europe is not in danger?

This blog is about the global jihad, what I call the Great Islamic Jihad, Third Wave. It respects no border, so neither will I.

Since Dymphna and I are Americans, we concentrate more on the USA. But we won't neglect the rest of the world. What happens in Indonesia and Kashmir and Thailand and Ramallah and Darfur very much affects us.

I suggest you look at the Jamaat ul-Fuqra posts. JF is happening right here, but it's run by a Pakistani.

It's definitely "One World" now. Not the one world that the liberal panntywaists were hoping for, but here it is, anyway.

I recently had the closest thing to a conversation (as oppoosed to a shouting match) with my dhimmi, multiculti, "it's all our fault anyway" brother that I can recall in a while.

It was still unedifying, if revealing.

I asked him if, when he visits Denmark for the first time, he would prefer to see Danish culture or imported mosques and Muslim slums.

He replied that I sounded "just like a Nazi."

In other words, defending the unique culture of a European country is seen as retrograde, if not fascistic.

The only ones whose culture requires respecting are the Islamic invaders. They are fragile and must be protected.

Unless it becomes respectable to talk about preserving our own cultures without being lumped in with the worst criminals in history, the Nazis, I don't see much hope.

Fjordman said...

Cato the Elder: There is an enormous stigma connected to being white and saying you want to preserve your culture. This is a crucial part of Political Correctness. Anti-racism has become the Communism of our age, and is used as a club to beat white people who don't want to become a persecuted minority in their own country. It needs to be demolished. I have hesitated for a long time to write about anything related to skin color in my posts, but I have come to the conclusion that it needs to be done, sooner or later.

Contrary to what are media keep telling us, perhaps the most common, certainly the most accepted form of racism in the West isn't "Islamophobia," but Caucasophobia, the fear of white people.

Cato said: "Unless it becomes respectable to talk about preserving our own cultures without being lumped in with the worst criminals in history, the Nazis, I don't see much hope."

Absolutely true. Take a page from a good communist like Gramsci and all of the decadent vanguard movements out there...repetition repetition repetition. Keep saying the same thing over and over and brush off the insults until sooner or later everyone will look at you funny, not because you are saying something bad, but because what you are saying is self evident.

Any good idea, to paraphrase I know not who, is first scorned, then shrilled against as dangerous, and finally treated as if everyone knew it was a good idea all along.

Vercingetorix said...

With respect to demographics, there is another model the Europeans have tried out before, and worked reasonably well for 500 years...helots.

If the Muslims are born as citizens, with voting rights, Europe will have a problem, but if those areas, those ghettos, separate from the nation, then they lose their 'rights' to decide with the rest of the nation. Geographic isloation, legal fiat, citizenship is not a given.

fjordman: I grew up as a Caucasian in India, and when I moved back to Canada I couldn't understand what all the "racism" was about, because I knew that the "White Superiority" complex was almost non-existent among whites, but pandemic among non-whites. Very few white people think they are inherently superior...but most non-whites think white people are superior.

In India it may date from the Alexandrian invasions...but its a national pastime to breed whiter with each generation. Even the caste system works roughly along colour gradient lines. I misuse the word "national", since its pandemic throughout Asia, Africa, and even the Caribbean.

Of course back on the north american farm no one realizes any of this, so we all blame ourselves even while shaking our heads because we don't quite understand what all the fuss is about. We know that white is not better, and so apologize instead for Anglo-Saxon culture, which is, by orders of magnitude, superior to all others.

But isn't it strange how we are willing to forgive others, most notably the Orient, their little pre-occupation with genetic purity yet lambast ourselves for any hint of the same thing. I use "we" to describe the hegemonic belief among the Anglo-Saxons, but that belief actually springs from the late 20th century variety of liberalism, and I can't for the life of me think of anything more acutely racist than holding one race to a higher standard than another.

The nice thing about the U.S. is that it is already clearly a multicultural--i.e. multiracial--society. Therefore we don't need to apologize for defending our American way of life--that's why the ancestors of most Americans and the present-day immigrants came in the first place.

Even black Americans--who apparently have been stuck on "hate whitey" themes for some decades now--recognize that the America of today is no longer the land that enslaved their ancestors. Furthermore, many Americans now live in multiracial families.

As a result, us white people can stop apologizing for being white, since it's apparent around the world that hateful people come in all colors. If any comments dispute this, I'll be glad to supply a list of nonwhite monsters who weren't created by "colonialism."

I blogged a couple weeks ago about the France's impeding "6th republic", but you have done a much more eloquent job.

Another scenario is that the French government collapses due to constant riots by Muslims. Rises up is a French strongman leader rises, gains popularity by driving out the Muslims. However, at the end of the day the French are left with essentially a dictator. Because they were too spineless to demand integration or kick out radicals, the French people would then be left with a South America style government.

Fellowpeacekeeper, Europe currently lacks the military and more importantly the will to fight. Europe's military is in shambles. While it is sufficient to prevent Iranian troops from landing on the shores of Marsielle, it is too small to project power overseas. Iran could send terrorists to France and claim responsibility, but France doesn't have the power to invade Iran. If you want an example, look at the rag-tag fleet Britian sent to reclaim the Falkland Islands. However, that was almost 25 years ago and there have been several major cuts in the British military since.

Predicting the future from current trends is tough. I do think the muhammad cartoon controvery and all the publicity it got may have made even many liberals aware of the threat posed by radical islam. Still, the toughest problem is the lack of motivation on the part of most of the non-muslim world to defend their own cultures. Hang in there, Fjordman.

Pertinent analysis. Bravo. Nevertheless, one scenario is missing:
Due to increasing tension, companies and individuals develop rejection toward non-europeans. A non-compromised political class emerges despite Paris-London-Berlin intelligensia and, along with a massive transformation of Europeans Welfare states, abandons the outrageous familly benefits (the more children you have the more benefit you receive, and since non-europeans have three times more kids....). West Europe becomes increasingly unattractive for new comers, and the immigration flux is peacefully reversed.

Excellent post and discussion.

I have a different view on all this. I think we're fighting two simultaneous wars, not one war with two fronts.

The first is the War Against the West, as Lee Harris describes in his book "Civilization and its Enemies" and as manifest in the current worldwide Islamic Revolution. The second war is the War Within the West as exemplifed by our culture war between individual liberty versus Transnational Progressivism.

We will not prevail in the external war until we deal with the internal war.

It is well to recall that France also tried to take over dominance of the Roman Catholic Church. That was the time when fair France was known as "the eldest daughter of the Church."

There seems to be something within their national psyche that is discontent with playing a supporting part. Even being numbered among the forefront is insufficient for them.

Recall when the Church went into it's own version of the Babylonian exile. Where did the Church go? It went to Avignon, France. Not a coincedence that.

This determination to rule will not end well for them. Compare that with the United States, which wants nothing more to return to the business of commerce, undistracted with all these civilizational and cultural complications and strife.

Pete, "which" residents are we to leave Europe to the worrying of? Europeans, or muslims, who are anti-Europe and anti-Europeans? The very term "European" has become so multifaceted of late, just within a few decades, a double entendre, if you will.

Face it, your elites have done what generations could not do, walk Europe itself up onto the gallows of history. Why not cut the hubristic facade, and simply admit it, to yourselves, and to us. Despite the bitter barbs we toss out, we mean you well. Our fathers bled for your freedom, were we to abandon you now, it would be abandoning the legacy of glory that our fathers bequeathed us, and the legacy of freedom that was their gift to you.

We are not so foolish to allow our anger about your betrayal of us, and the West, to cloud our judgement, or fog our reasoning.

But this time, with this particular threat, by the manner that Europe is being attacked, we might not be able to save your ass like our fathers did. America isn't going to able to come and initiate the type of cleansing that the great Cid, and others, accomplished long ago.

Thus you need us to conquer within the heart of the Arabic darkness itself. Your entire destiny is interwoven with the fortunes of our war in the mideast. If we conquer within islam, within it's blackened and sun scorched recesses, the ominous jihadists within your midst will sustain a psychological blow they will not be able to sustain. And you just might be able to walk off the gallows, instead of taking that long drop with a rope around your neck.

Yes, it is fascinating that they are memorized about Napoleon.

They almost worship him, but they can't bring themselves to do what he would do in a similar situation.

He would not have allowed France to be brought to such straits.

Nor would Murat.

Where is that high courage and flair which so characterized them for years? I refuse to believe that it isn't there? It's there somewhere, buried deep, under the crust of cynicism, beyond the lip service of political correctness and multiculturalism.

But it's there somewhere.

Mesmorized that should read, not memorized.

But you get the gist, nonetheless.

The reference to the 'proles' in 1984 is interesting, it could be a parallel of what happened last December in Australia, a country with a relatively tiny Muslim population. SMS text messages are sent advising a date and location - a start of the 'flocking' process. Shock jocks on talkback radio inflame listeners with anti-muslim rants. The participants buy slabs of beer to lubricate their mood in seeking out and punishing "people of middle eastern appearance." A cynic might call it the "surfer solution."

Here is a transcipt of the events that lead to the Cronulla riots: http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/content/2006/s1590953.htm

Archonix said...

espresso-expression I'm afraid your little synpsis of events is a bit backwards. For the entire year previous to the cronulla riots, a sizable group of lebanese muslims had spent their time on the beach with the state aim of making it a "muslims only" area. They abnused women, assaulted men who tried to defend them and basically trampled on the rights of the people living there.

It's telling that lebanese christians were unharmed during the riots.

APB said...

You wrote about how we have a relatively small Muslim population. Considering other nations, this is definitely true, but considering Australia has a small population of 20 million, they are certainly a threat. The East Coast (Where the Cronulla protests occurred) has been absorbed by these anti-Australian, welfare leeches.
Obviously you have listened to the hyped-up media. There was barely any anti-Muslim radio rants, and it was just a bunch of true Australians who were sick and tired of feeling like a victimized minority in their own country. The straw that broke the camels back was when lifesavers on the East coast were brutally bashed by Muslims, for no reason what so ever.
At the start of the day, families from surrounding suburbs went to the beach, and began enjoying barbecues whilst still protesting for the freedom of their country. Soon enough though, the alcohol sunk in to the youths who attended, and their anger towards ‘Lebs’ was soon put into action. The Australians there that day did not go around to seek out and punish "people of middle eastern appearance." Those two Muslim lads you saw being set on down at the beach were the types of people the protests were against-Muslim men who had no intention of swimming, who walk through the beachside parks to intimidate whoever they can.
This ‘surfer solution’ shows that we, as a nation, are willing to speak out against people who come to my country and treat it with no respect, and abuse their rights and privileges.
I’m also guessing the media forgot to show you the aftermath of these protests (yes, they were protests, not riots). Soon after they faded, in the dark of night, hundreds of Lebanese Muslims set out to get revenge. From stabbing and knocking unconscious old people taking out their bins, to destroying houses, no Caucasian was safe in the shire of Cronulla. A new ruling has even come about that disallows the Australian flag to be flown at the beach. We can’t even fly our own flag because these Muslims, who are only part of the Muslim pandemic, are offended.
Consider this before you cast aside this day as one of ‘rioting’ and a ‘surfer solution’

Unfortunately, it's not the case, and the two french persons who were killed in a human bomb attack yesterday in Tel Aviv could have regretted their decision to go back to israel if they were not dead by now. Most of the jews living in France have chosen to stay in a coutry not ravaged by war like the middle east. France has still the second largest jews community in the world and it would'nt be the case if they fled. Your comments are baseless, comments should be based on facts.

So it is conceivable, then, that the United State could end up supporting Germany in a war against France because France has finally become an Islamic nation.

This, more than anything else, illustrates the changed world we live in.

I once remember hearing Jacques Chirac say that "France's roots are as much Muslim as Christian".

What a joke. He is one of the leading NeoCons of France.

Even though I'm not French I can't stand that traitorous White hating pig. So many French much better then them have died for their country, and now if its only people like him who are left, it makes me wonder what they really died for. Mr. Chirac thinks that Muslims are integral to France's cultural identity?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! and he really believe's this? There are millions of Arabs taking over France. They have a fertility rate which is 3 times higher then that of the native indegineous Frenchwoman, and they also bear their children at much earlier ages. Muslims in France simply have a younger population, higher birthrates, and more women of reproductive age. In time, Muslims will continue to grow exponentially and make up an even larger % of France's population.

Once they become a majority and elect their leaders to power and declare Sharia Law they will then impose their religion, culture, language, and way of life upon the French.

Many people would speak out against this but if they do they will be thrown in jail by the terrorist Chirac regime, led by the Jews and their self-hating French liberal cohorts in illegal rulership of the French nation. If you have to terrorize your own population so they won't speak out for their own survival then your regime has no more validity and needs to be replaced. I truly hope that not all strong French were shot dead during both world wars and that they will soon rise up and take up arms against the terrorist Chirac regime.

And as for the Arabs and other non-Europeans residing in France I don't care if they hate me or whatever just as long as they take pack up their stuff and move back to sewers they came from. I will always hate them because they seek to destroy that which I love. The line between hate and love is very thin indeed. I expect nothing but hatred, envy, biterness, and resentment from them for what we have built and for what our people have acomplished for they will never be able to produce a civilization which produces the benefits which we enjoy.

Make no mistake, Arabs have brought nothing but pain, filth, pestilence, poison, suffering, and war upon us ever since they've began their incursion into France. Arabs have not changed at all since they were driven back by Charles Martel at the Battle of Tours in 732 AD. They are still the same beasts they were more than a thousand years ago! Aside from raping, rioting, stealing, and comlpaining, the only other thing they are good at is killing and occupying our lands.

40+% of French people could vote for Le Pen, and there are other Nationalist parties with big support, the only thing in their way is the French socialists and Communists. There maybe an "unholy alliance" though, when the need is greatest.
If it comes to the crunch, Europe will see the rise of a new Nationalism. Then we will see real problems as our societies divide between the camps.
Once the "indigenous" populations of Europe gain strength once more, the moslims will be faced with choices. The young will fight and burn anything they can. This will result in the people defending their property and cultural icons. This is perhaps the source of the much vaunted civil-war.
With nowhere to deport these new populations of moslims, there will be the inevitable consequences of what to do with them. Large and vile internment camps will be set up.
There will be no option other than to invade oil-producing Countries with full military force, or we will shiver in our homes with no food to eat. The very head of the hydra will have to be cut off. The centre of islam will have to be destroyed,
then we will see a cowed and defeated demoralised moslim population.
Do you not remember, though, how Bill CLintons gang invaded Serbia to defeat Milosovitch and how the UN and European politicos are imagining that they are keeping the peace in the Former Yugoslavia?
Do you remember the pictures of starving moslims in the camps?
You must be prepared to see millions more, before Islam is defeated in Europe.
If America intervenes again with NATO bombing to defeat the Nationalist/Facist upturn then, it will be for nothing that the people of Europe throw off the yoke of submission.
To pacify the Saudis, a President like Clinton or even Bush will side with the Euromoslims just to keep the oil flowing back home.
Even the dickhead that runs Iran knows that.
Look at the old TV footage of how Nato planes bombed the brave rebellious Serbs. I have no doubt the USA would do it again out of self-inerest. I do not say this as a snub to our US friends, but as a stark reminder that America cannot as yet afford to lose influence within the Ummah of allah-given oil fields and Western-given petrocash.
Who listened to Milosovitch when he told the World that he was defending Christian Serbia against the head-chopping mudjahadeen let loose there after the defeat of Russia in Afghanistan?
There are plenty of examples of moslim handywork in former Yugoslavia, the victims were not high profile Brits or American journolists, they were farmers and citizens of a country where their ancestors have lived for a thousand or more years. The invaders were moslim Albanians and the like, who slowly inveigled their way in under cover of the Soviet break up.
Now these moslims are there on the borders of Greater Europe and are approaching their acceptance as full members of the EU.
Christian Serbia, stalwarts against the islamofacists has been told it must give up it's territory to the moslims and grovel, to be allowed into Europe.
Paddy Ashdown, liberal-democrat MP and now a lord, has just stepped down from his job with the UN,completing the paperwork for the bosnians to come aboard the good ship "Sinking Europe."
Clintons chief henchman is now a newsanchor on CNN or some TV channel.
Clinton the bomber is now touting himself around the World as a God given wonderkind, hoping perhaps for Kofi Anand's job at the UN.
If America does not get to grips with the facts on the ground in Europe, then the GI's will be here supporting the friggin jihad against the Europeans that take action against the moslims.

Politicians across the West seem convinced that all they have to do is mollify the moslems and then wait for them to come round and "modify" of "reform" their beliefs.
What utter bollocks!
Our head is on the blocks in Europe.
We cannot fight back without being deemed criminal. It is the "human rights" bullshit of the UN and Liberal America that are the real threat to Europes continued existence.
The moslims do not have the power or skills to clean their own backyards let alone use nuclear weaponry. If ever they have the control of Euro-nukes, it will be because the US or Chirac has given them the codes.
And we will be the suckers being punished for our "facism."
It is plain that the only route towards solving the problems of Europes moslim populations are the same ones the nazis had. Ain't that nice, ain't that fine?
We will have to become barbarians to survive.
Please America, stay out of helping the moslims in Europe, when you see the smoke rising from the camps.
Does anyone think it will be otherwise?
Does anyone believe the islamic threat will just pack it's bags and walk?
Is it going to be a nice-guy that tells them to shut up or get out?
I don't think so.
It will be bloody and painful. There will be starvation and deprivation. There will be hooror and there will be pain.
It is called war.
Well, of course, we can just keep pretending that everythings just fine and hand the problem on to the next generation to work out.
We are just human afterall.
It will take someone inhuman to sort out the mess.
Now I know why old geezers say "..well, at least it won't be in my lifetime"
Only now, it likely will be.

Socialism and multiculturalism aren't compatible. Case in point- the old Austro Hungarian Empire - not very egalitarian. High taxes and an expansive welfare state might still work in Finland but won't in France.

I'm no economic libertarian, but I think the French will at least have to start following the policies of moderately regulated countries like Australia and The Netherlands.

Excellent article as always, Fjordman. I am a fan of yours (ever since the Motoons incident). I check this and other blogs a few times a week.

When i read Fellow Peacekeeper's comment, (which you have taken a note of as well):"to my mind the Islamoids are themselves vital in the process of reviving Europe, as an antagonist. Sort of like applying electric shocks to restart the heart."

This confirmed that i am not the only one who shares this specific idea, which in the end (i hope) will only benefit Europe and the Western Civilization.

It confirms the old saying: WHAT DOESN'T KILL ME, WILL ONLY MAKE ME STRONGER. The essence of our present days in the 21st century, is the test to our civilization's endurance.

I tend to be an optimist, and so i think that with the rate the Muslim world shows it's true colours to the West, it only gets easier for us to defeat it, hence to press for the "Reconquista - The Second Expulsion of the Moors" as you've put it, to happen much faster and sooner. I also think, that since the Muslim world is easily irritated, it would be advisable for the West to not shy away from such activity - we should poke them where it hurts more often, harder and faster, to get this whole problem over with as soon as possible and at the same time prevent a longer version of that problem in the future.

The Motoons were a great spark, the Pope's remarks were marvelous, but more then often Muslim terrorist attempts and successes are the action items, which will trigger this Multi-Culti breakdown to happen faster and sooner.

In the event that the West will prevail, Islam will (hopefully) become extinct or at least notable model of the values that the Western Civilization should AVOID. That's my current wishful thinking.

When it comes to Islam as we know it today, it encompasses all the characteristics of destruction but most importantly: as a self destructive force, which seems to be the mechanism that makes it work but also the mechanism that is doomed to destroy itself from its very root. We already see examples of that today with the civil wars in Iraq, Palestinian territories, Shias Vs Sunnis, etc...etc. It seems that Islamic lifestyle and psychology is every bit similar to the CLASSICAL ABUSER AND THE ABUSED life. In a scenario where both two people cannot be equal, there is always a Master / Servant syndrome, which explains why women virtually have little or no rights in that society. The women's aspect is just one example of the many disfunctions that it nurtures. Well that's a whole other topic about the why and how Islam is dysfunctional in so many ways.

Bottom line is the West, and ESPECIALLY Europe should show its tougher side / nor mercy. If Europe will fall, it will be a devastating blow to the Western Culture.

I am looking forward to reading more of your work!

By the way, bld, great explanation.

It seems that there's already a rumour in the Muslim world that the next holocaust that will take place in Europe will target Islam. On the same note, it could be false propaganda to trigger harsher hate coming from Islamists towards Europeans. Either way, i think it's good as it only accelerates the situation so we can have it done and over with.

Hello everyone,

I am deeply concerned about the state of modern Western Civilization (you know, what used to be called Latin Christendom). It is in a deep deep spiritual funk and my magic eight ball says the future is looking "not that good." I've read this excellent article by Fjordman as well as some of the pretty depressing responses. I'd like to throw in my two cents...

In my opinion, it's not too late to save Europe. Here are some proposals that, if put into practice in Western Europe, may reverse the Muslim curse:

1. Immigration Freeze. Stop any and all immigration from Arab and/or Muslim counties. Immigrants from other areas of the world that are more willing to assimilate can continue to settle in Europe. No more Muslins though. This will be called discrimination. It is discrimination. Too bad.

2. Deportation of Immigrants. Muslims who do not want to assimilate (those lovable Imams who regularly call for the destruction of the West especially come to mind) must have their citizenship revoked and be sent back to whatever country they (or their parents) came from. This will be called Unconstitutional. It probably is Unconstitutional. Who cares.

3. Entitlement Restrictions. Here comes the hardest part Europeans (though it should be the easy part): you need to have children! Some really drastic measures have to be taken here. My main idea is that native Europeans should only be eligible ro receive Soclial Welfare benefits if you have at least two children per family. If you have more than two children, you get additional pension benefits. This will only apply to native Europeans. This will be called unfair. It is unfair. But whoever said life was supossed to be fair?

There is no guarantee that restricting Social Welfare benefits to native Europeans will stimulate larger families among Spainards, Italians, and Dutch. It's worth a try though.

Even if this scheme doesn't work, the combination of not allowing any new Muslim immigrants and deporting some of the ones already there will at least slow the demographics of Western doom.

Putting these proposals into practice is much easier said than done. I'd love to see the Christian Democratic / Conservative parties adopt these ideas into their political platforms. Doing so may at first seem unrealistic. I feel however that the people of Europe are slowly starting to understand what they are up against. They may respond favoably to such political platforms. Europeans have to do something. It's not too late but time is running out.

Better get to church and pray...

Interesting article. But no mention of Europe's relationship with the US, which would be key. No mention of Jim Bennett's important analysis of the Anglosphere: the UK, undergoing a sad process of dhimmification, does have different cultural roots to the rest of Europe; will this be a factor in Europe's - or its own - survival? And energy, upon which much is hinged. Nothing is mentioned about the global economy and what effects the beginnings of conflict would have upon it ... Magog indeed. It has nothing to do with tax breaks, as Mark Steyn says in America Alone. Its about the death of the will of the culture, the loss of values. Europe is likely to slide into a nasty civil war, with a clear backlash from facist, nationalist movements against jihad, though this is complicated by the apparent alliance between the anti-globsalisation loons and Islam.
