Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/11/2012

Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/11/2012Gerhard Schindler, the head of German state intelligence, says that the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria is on its last legs. According to Mr. Schindler, battle casualties, desertions, and defections have eroded the fighting capabilities of the Syrian army to the point where it is only a matter of time before the regime falls.

In other news, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has picked Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate. Unlike the man at the top of the ticket, some of Mr. Ryan’s political views may be accurately described as conservative.

As far as Ryan goes, and your description of him, as a "conservative", the shellacking has already begun.
Now, it appears, he has broken off with Ayn Rand, due to what he perceives as her "militant atheism".
Can we trust him?

Can we trust Romney and Paul? This makes me laugh. Both are neo-conservative, pro-Zionist traitors to the US Constitution (the document, not the naval vessel). They represent entrenched, bourgeois, corporate and banking interests that fleece the workers as their banking/billionaire benefactors and they create income redistribution to the top 1%. This happens as workers' wages stagnate and their costs of living increase. Their foreign policy serves Israel, to the detriment of all US national security/economic interests. The Democrats are part of this same system. They are 2 wings of a one-party, propertied class, economic plantation. Workers of the world unite!
