The continuing economic crisis in Spain has caused an increasing number of Spanish citizens to emigrate. During 2011 about 115,000 Spaniards left the country, most of them moving to South America.
In other news, a twelve-year-old girl and a fifteen-year-old boy in Afghanistan were killed by an acid attack, reportedly for being friends with each other. They have not yet been identified, and no families are willing to come forward and claim the bodies.

Re the Afghanistan acid attack. The kind of country where this can happen and be thought commonplace is irredeemable. The West's good intentions cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Leave Muslims to kill and torture each other as is their wont. Stop giving them western targets in addition.
