Gates of Vienna News Feed 9/21/2010

Gates of Vienna News Feed 9/21/2010Hackers broke into a web page belonging to the Sweden Democrats and were able to download a dataset of personal information on people who had requested information on the party — many of them potential recruits or members. The information has been offered online as a way for opponents to discover who the Sweden Democrats in their neighborhood are.

In other news, the Federal Reserve has decided to leave interest rates unchanged — which means they won’t be raised, since they can hardly fall — and left the door open to future “quantitative easing”, given the persistently weak economy with its high unemployment. The stock market in Japan rallied in response.

Wouldn't the ironies abound if the Swedish establishment goons began murdering the SD "Nazis".

It's been a common complaint that the US doesn't pay UN dues, to the point of being $1B in arrears. Having the security tab is more than enough to cover the arrears methinks.

As for energy and BC, those guys are crooks. The article is one thing, but up here in Alberta we are also saddled with their crookedness. Because coal plants need maintenance the energy supply is erratic, and hence Alberta must import energy from BC. This is claimed to be hydro (despite the article here). They charge much higher prices to us under the guise of "market value" compared to what they pay for the power. If they're needing to import power perhaps they should be charged handsomely as well.

In other news, the Fed today announced that with every loan of one million dollars or more, they would throw in a free toaster and a politician. When asked about the policy, a Fed spokesman replied off the record, "Yeah, we have a whole bunch of surplus politicians stacked up in back, we had to find some way to get rid of them. The toasters cost money though, we may have to substitute a Democrat lobbyist if we run out. We're going to have lots of those."
