Today an email came from Ole, a reader of Gates of Vienna, with a link to the video below. It is a fourth year exercise by a student from the Bezalel Academy of the Arts in Jerusalem.
This video solves the problem in some ways. Perhaps others who share my aversion and are forced to turn away from the stark barbarism of this primitive legal code will now be able to examine it a little. And perhaps there will be further videos of this nature:
You can view the translation of this particular sharia law here.

So, is this what "Yellow Submarine" would have looked like if it had been produced by Muslims?
PS: Note the labels applied to sub-par stones at time point 1:25.
"Button, screw, toothpick, nail, finger, coin, key, peanut, a small fish (larf), eye?, corick?!"

I noticed the direct crib from YS, too. Those psychedelic florals & rainbow clouds look all but identical, iirc.
I think it's a brilliant move -- to take Peter Max aesthetics and apply them to sharia in Iran.
Let's hope the Beatles machine doesn't come after him for copyright violations.
Ah, lyrical dissonance. What a charming way to present such a morbid topic.
Tom Lehrer would be proud.
This concept has to go. It has no place in the modern world. Yet getting rid of it will trigger violence and wars as has been demonstrated in numerous places.
Sharia must go. So must halacha. Both are stone-age, barbaric relics that have no place in modern jurisprudence.
Bezalel Academy of the Arts - that's so cool.

Maybe this will manage to pierce the Baby Boomers' lingering 1960's miasma where plain speech and simple facts clearly have yet to succeed.

If what's left of the Beatle's machine has a scintilla of moral fiber they will leave well enough alone. As a supposed icon of progressive thought, for them to contravene an attempt at exposing the barbaric nature of shari'a would be more than a little conspicuously un-progressive.
As John Lennon so utopically crooned:
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
If there is one thing that we need to stop people from killing for or dying for, it's ISLAM.

You seem to imply that Islam's pursuit of world domination, otherwise known as Global Cultural Genocide™, would not involve the exact same, if not far, far greater, degree of slaughter. There is absolutely nothing peaceful about Islam's intent for dar al harb.
Much like gangreen, it is best to amputate this putrescent, rotting extension of the stone age right away rather than let it infect and, eventually, overcome the planetary body as a whole.

My, you do sound like a Nodrog sock-puppet.
As for halacha, can you send some information as to how many folks have died this year for violating its tenets? No pictures, please -- just the numbers.
You've made a categorical error here, but of course you know that. It's not the integrity of the dialogue that counts, is it?
