Lord Ahmed Agrees…

…and other updates on the Geert Wilders case.

The Home Office wallahs must be doing something right, because Lord Ahmed agrees with them. If Lord Ahmed is on their side, who could be against them?

Below are some more translations by VH from the Dutch media, beginning with an article from De Telegraaf:

Lord Ahmed supports the UK Government

The British member of the House of Lords Lord Ahmed supports his government in the decision to deny Geert Wilders access to the country. Lord Ahmed had earlier publicly protested against the screening of the film Fitna in the House of Lords.

“Geert Wilders is charged in his own country with inciting hatred. Therefore it is the right decision from our government to refuse him access to the country, because he would do the same here. And we do not want that to happen” the Muslim Lord Ahmed said Tuesday in a response over the telephone.

Ahmed said that he received “hundreds of threats and abusive e-mails and phone calls” since he has spoken against the screening of the film in the United Kingdom. “I was against the film because that would incite hatred against Muslims in the United Kingdom,” according to Ahmed, who consulted the police about the threats.

Ahmed also complains about the fact that “completely false allegations” have been made against him. The peer is alleged to have said that he could gather ten thousand Muslims to demonstrate in front of the House of Lords against the film Fitna. Ahmed denies this, and says he will sue the magazine The Spectator, which published this assertion.

The British ban all “extremists”

LONDON — “The British government forbids all forms of extremism. The government prevents anyone who spreads extremism, hatred and violent messages in our communities disseminate, to access to our country.”

So said a spokesman for the British Home Office, which decides on visa applications and immigration, on the decision to refuse Wilders to enter the United Kingdom.

According to the spokesman, fighting extremism was also the driving motivation for tighter access rules due to unacceptable behavior, which the Home Secretary announced last October.

And from the PVV website:

“Great Britain is sacrificing freedom of speech”

Geert Wilders has been denied access to Great Britain. The PVV leader had been invited by a member of the House of Lords to show the film Fitna in Parliament this Thursday, but today the British Embassy in the Netherlands received a letter in which denies Wilders access to the United Kingdom.

“Great Britain is sacrificing freedom of speech,” said Wilders. “Something you would expect in Saudi Arabia, but not in Great Britain. I find this abject disposition of the British government very severe. I was simply invited by a British MP.”

Fitna has been shown in a number of countries so far, including Israel. Next week it will be shown in the Italian parliament and in a few weeks the United States is on the program.

Wilders does not know whether he will put up with this state of affairs.

“I’m considering just putting it to the test and taking the airplane. Then I will see what happens. But I cannot commit myself to that yet, because I still have to find out what the procedures are.”

This from the same Lord Ahmed who was among the founders of The World Forum, an organization set up “to promote world peace in the aftermath of 9/11 with an effort to build bridges of understanding between The Muslim World and the West by reviving a tradition of Dialogue between people, cultures and civilizations based on tolerance.”

* wants to sentence Jews . . .while he looks the other way as his constituents in Britain would "not be deterred from supporting the mujahideen [Islamic fighters] in Kashmir, Chechnya, Palestine or indeed in Iraq since we do this as a divine obligation and this is not a matter of negotiation or compromise.

*who threatened to mobilize 10,000 Muslims to prevent Mr. Wilders from entering the House and threatened to take the colleague who was organizing the event to court

More on Ahmed's bridge building/tolerance/dialogue:
Lord Ahmed, the Muslim MP quoted complaining about discrimination against Muslims in the UK, is a rather discriminating person himself, in his own way. In his case, the discrimination he displays looks to be more about whether or not Salman Rushdie ought to be able to retain his life

Lord Ahmed will be sentenced next week for vehicular homicide while texting. May he receive the same sentence as this texter and these MP's who were ousted from the House of Lords for their criminal convictions.

This would be the same Lord Ahmed who invited a Swedish Holocaust denier to the House of Lords to give a speech on the Evils of Jews?

The Times: Lord Ahmed's unwelcome guest

"Lord Ahmed hosted a book launch in the House of Lords for a man going by the name of Israel Shamir. “Israel Shamir” is, in fact, a Swedish-domiciled anti-Semite also known as Jöran Jermas.

The gist of Shamir/Jermas’s speech at the meeting can be gleaned from its title, “Jews and the Empire”. It included observations such as: “All the [political] parties are Zionist-infiltrated.” “Your newspapers belong to Zionists . . . Jews indeed own, control and edit a big share of mass media, this mainstay of Imperial thinking.” “In the Middle East we have just one reason for wars, terror and trouble — and that is Jewish supremacy drive . . . in Iraq, the US and its British dependency continue the same old fight for ensuring Jewish supremacy in the Middle East.” “The Jews like an Empire . . . This love of Empire explains the easiness Jews change their allegiance . . . Simple minds call it ‘treacherous behaviour’, but it is actually love of Empire per se.” “Now, there is a large and thriving Muslim community in England . . . they are now on the side of freedom, against the Empire, and they are not afraid of enforcers of Judaic values, Jewish or Gentile. This community is very important in order to turn the tide.”

Indeed, Shamir/Jermas’s own website proudly reprints his views: “Jews asked God to kill, destroy, humiliate, exterminate, defame, starve, impale Christians, to usher in Divine Vengeance and to cover God’s mantle with blood of goyim . . . ” “The Ashkenazi Jews believed that spilled Jewish blood has a magic effect of calling down Divine Vengeance on the heads of the Gentiles . . . The picture of Jews slaughtering children for cultic reasons exerted huge impact on the Christian peoples of Europe.” On and on it goes.

Yesterday, I phoned him. When I told him that I planned to write a piece drawing attention to his actions in hosting Shamir/Jermas and that I wanted to give him every opportunity to respond, he replied: “I am not even going to speak with you.” He then put the phone down.

Lord Ahmed’s refusal to condemn the remarks seems to indicate that he sees nothing wrong with inviting such a man to speak, or with the words Shamir/Jermas used.

There is an instructive parallel. Howard Flight was stripped of the Conservative whip for expressing a mild opinion about spending cuts. Lord Ahmed invited a known anti-Semite to speak in the House of Lords, has not uttered a word of criticism since and remains a Labour peer. Before hearing from Lord Ahmed, I also wrote to Lord Grocott, the Labour Chief Whip in the Lords. I asked him if, given Lord Ahmed’s apparent lack of contrition, Lord Grocott considered it appropriate that Lord Ahmed should still hold the Labour whip? No reply.

All Lord Ahmed need do to destroy the notion that he supports Shamir/Jermas’s views is to admit that he made a mistake in inviting him, and to condemn his words.

The British government forbids all forms of extremism.

With 'Extremism' being defined as either of:

"Anything we do not agree with."

"Anything that may cause police work."

"Anything that provokes Muslims."

"Anything/anyone we don't understand."

"Any dissent not large enough to threaten us."

Boy, is this rotten...

As for 'Lord' Ahmed and his call for riots, two words need repeating:

High treason

If Britain was a healthy democracy, he'd be jailed already.

One presumes that the trail of people involved in denying Wilders entry to the UK will lead back to Ahmed.

Yep!

Ahmed donated a fortune to the labour party, and got a peerage in return. He's donated more since then. He's been praised by several senior labour cabinet members, Tony Blair himself and a bunch of others. Labour, surprisingly enough, is the party of government.

Short trail really...

Money lord has nothing against infiltration of muslims everywhere...
these guys simply project their ugly image into others. Sort of mental compulsion.

I remeber him laughing while saying: "Prophet mo privided for minorities rules in his times"...meaning of course dhimmis.
