“Facing Jihad” Postponement Announcement

This is the official announcement of the postponement of the Jerusalem conference. Today I will attempt to either get a refund on my air ticket or have it transferred to the new dates (if I can discover when they are).

Anyone who donated and would like their donation returned, please email us. I hope to turn this into a moveable feast and attend the conference when it is rescheduled, but I can’t as yet say when that will be.

(JERUSALEM, ISRAEL — 14 NOVEMBER 2008) — MK Arieh Eldad, founder of Israel’s Hatikva Party, announced today that the Facing Jihad International Lawmakers’ Summit, originally scheduled for December 14-15 in Jerusalem, will be postponed until after the Israeli national elections in February.

“Due to the pressures and time-constraints that running a campaign demands, many of the Israeli politicians who had intended to participate in the conference had to unfortunately cancel,” said Eldad. “In order to best accomplish the conference’s goals, we must have the full participation of each lawmaker invited and this will simply not be possible with the looming elections.”

The summit was conceived as a platform for bringing together parliamentarians from across Europe and Israel who are united against the threat of Islamic expansion.

Eldad additionally announced that he will be hosting a one-day conference on December 14 — to include a public screening of Fitna, the controversial documentary about Islam — that will aim to educate the Israeli public about the true nature of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“This conflict does not exist in a vacuum, but it is rather a local symptom of a global disease and it must be addressed,” said Eldad.

The December 14 conference will include sessions by many experts on Islam and the Middle East. Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders will address the audience about Fitna, as well as other issues related to the Islamization of Europe.

The conference, which will be held at Jerusalem’s Begin Heritage Center, will be open to the public.
